Presence Holistics

Presence Holistics Holistic Therapy at Presence Sir Walter Scott described Kelso as "the most beautiful, if not the most romatic village in Scotland."

I currently provide a range of Holistic therapies from my premises in the picturesque town of Kelso which lies at the junction of the Rivers Tweed and Teviot. Kelso remains one of the most attractive, unspoilt towns in the Borders with a Flemish-style cobbled square and a 12th century abbey. I feel privileged to be able to live and work in such a stunning part of the Scottish Borders and I am sure

you will agree Kelso is certainly worth the visit, not only for therapies I offer but for the wonderful scenery and warm welcome. Strictly by appointment only.

10.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Saturday

Other times availabe upon request. Please telephone for futher details. FAILED APPOINTMENTS / CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note: A failed appointment or a late cancellation (less than 24 hours notice) will result in a full fee being charged. 😂✨ A good laugh can recharge your batteries better than any power nap!

So today — find your person, share a giggle, let it bubble up from your belly. Life’s too short not to laugh at the ridiculous, beautiful, messy magic of it all. 🌟

You deserve a full-on, face-hurting, can’t-breathe kind of laugh today. Go get it! 😆

“What I Want You to Take Away From This Week”

If you’ve followed along this week, thank you. Truly.
Here’s what I hope you’re leaving with:

💛You are not imagining it. Autoimmune conditions are real, complex, and often invisible to the outside world.

💛The diagnosis journey is rarely quick or clean - and that
is not a reflection of your strength or your worth.

💛You deserve to be heard -by your doctors, your loved
ones, and yourself.

💛Not having all the answers yet doesn’t mean you’re not moving forward. Sometimes hope and action come before clarity.

I’m sharing my story because I know how lonely this road can feel. And I want anyone walking it to know — there are communities and support groups out there. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

If this series spoke to you, please share it. You never know who needs to see it. 💛

🌳Please read the message from Dougie🌳

I'm looking for someone to join my small team at Borders Landscaping / Forestry Maintenance, working on various sites across East Lothian and the Eastern Scottish Borders.

This could suit a range of folk — including a student wanting summer work between now and September — but really it comes down to the right person: someone keen on working outdoors in the countryside, self-motivated, and happy to get stuck in.
The details:

Self-employed position
Must have own transport
£100–£150 per day, depending on the job and experience
No piece rate work — day rates only
18 or over

We work with landowners who genuinely care about their woodland and land, so a good attitude is a must and a real interest in the work go a long way.

If this sounds like you, or you know of someone who might just be looking for something like this, drop me an email at

borderslandscaping@outlook.com

Provide a few details about any experience you have and why you'd like the job. Email contact only please.

Cheers,
Dougie

“Waiting to Move Forward (While Just Getting Through Each Day)”

One of the hardest places to be in this journey? The gap between “we have a plan” and “we can begin.”

Right now, I’m waiting to speak with the specialist nurse before I can start trialling methotrexate. It sounds simple - just waiting for a call, a conversation, a green light. But when you’re unwell, waiting feels like its own kind of weight.

In the meantime, I’m on strong pain relief medication. And here’s the honest truth about that - it’s not really working.

It’s taking the edge off, but it’s also masking symptoms that still need to be properly understood. It’s a strange place to be: taking something to cope, while knowing it might be blurring the very picture the doctors need to see clearly.

Nobody tells you that managing an undiagnosed or unconfirmed condition can sometimes feel like you’re patching a leak while someone else looks for the source.

But I’m still here. Still advocating. Still waiting for that next conversation - because I know it’s a step closer to real answers.

If you’ve ever been stuck in the in-between, just you trying to get through the day this post is for you. 💛

Please remember. One hard day doesn’t undo everything you’ve built.

Every step forward — no matter how small — is still yours. Progress isn’t lost when life gets heavy; it lives in you, in the quiet strength you carry even on the days you don’t feel it.

Be gentle with yourself. Rest if you need to. Then, when you’re ready, keep going. 💛

“The Weight of Not Having a Label”

Here’s something people don’t talk about enough - sometimes the hardest part isn’t the symptoms. It’s the uncertainty.

Not having a confirmed diagnosis can feel isolating in a way that’s hard to explain. You’re unwell, but you don’t have a name for it. You’re seeking answers, but the answers keep shifting. You want to explain it to people, but even the doctors are still piecing it together.

I’m still on that road. I don’t have a confirmed label yet - but I do have a team working with me, a treatment plan beginning, and a growing understanding of what my body is going through.

And I’ve learnt this: your experience is valid with or without a label. Your pain is real. Your exhaustion is real. You don’t have to wait for a diagnosis to deserve support.

To anyone else living in the in-between - I see you. 💛
