It's World Book Day πŸ“˜

But as I am all for transparency, I thought I'd take today as a little awareness for those who find reading a little tougher. Over the years as a child and teenager, I always wanted to read. I'd try and try to make it to the end of a book, but I would never quite manage. The words would jumble. The sentences wouldn't make sense. I'd re-read the same line over 10 times. And I'd get so confused as to how people would find enjoyment in reading.

Up until the age of 26, I had never completed a full book. The first book I read from start to finish was my own πŸ₯³ I wrote a book about building confidence in the saddle when horse riding - an area I loved to help so many people with. So with passion came the ability to slowly but surely (very slowly!) work my way through a whole book.

So maybe your world book day isn't the same as everyone else's - choosing their favourite book out of the pile that they've read through - but that's ok. We can find creativity and imagination through audio books, arts and crafts 🫢🏽

So here's a photo of me hiking a hill since I have no favourite book to post 🀍

Thank you so much to everyone who came along last night and TOOK CONTROL OF CORTISOL. It was so lovely to see so many of you wanting to make 2025 the year of self care and knowledge.
We chatted all things mindset, nutrition, breathing, hormones, activity and so much more.

I am so grateful for the volume of interest the evening had, which I think really shows the want and need for more knowledge and understanding when it comes to health and wellbeing.

My door is always open for those who couldn't attend last night, please don't hesitate to message. As many of you will have already seen, I am now running sessions which I have named, THE GIRL CODE - sessions for female empowerment. To chat all things hormones, s*x & relationships, stress, home life, work management, routine and structure, weight, nutrition and so much more. It is a safe space for women to relax, open up and feel at ease to discuss anything they wish with support and guidance.

It's been a little while since we brought some newness to SDH so this is exciting...
πŸŽ€ New sessions in 2025 πŸŽ€

In addition to our hypnotherapy and relaxation sessions at SDH, I will be offering brand new sessions .. The Girl Code. This is a concept I have been creating throughout 2024.

These sessions will differ slightly to my usual hypnotherapy sessions due to specialising more into the world of being a woman! The good, the bad, and the blooming difficult!!

These 45-minute sessions are led by YOU to discuss any areas of your life you wish to work through. Mindset, body image, lifestyle, relationships, hormonal health, self-confidence, career progression, diet & nutrition, goals and aims, setting boundaries... the list is endless. The core principle is to receive help, support, and assistance through various therapeutic techniques, woman to woman.

I absolutely love empowering women to feel incredible in themselves. It is all about developing strength and confidence in day to day life no matter the external challenges.

It always shocks me that we must remind human beings to be kind to one another when it is the action that takes the most little amount of effort. In fact, it actually takes more effort to be cruel than to be kind.

Kindness is not great big gifts or luxury holidays. It's the simple things, the acts of care, the supportive words, the complimentary comments, the smile of comfort... these things take no effort at all.

As I have said 10000 times before, and will continue to say - you have no idea what battle others are facing, behind closed doors, or within their own head space. A simple comment or message can have a huge affect on someone's life. So stop, and THINK before you act. Let's spread kindness ALWAYS πŸ’™

Here at SDH, I offer various types of sessions to ensure there is something to suit everyone.
Full Hypnotherapy sessions are 55 minutes and consist of both talking therapy to begin, followed by hypnosis.
I also offer more specific session to stop smoking and rid fears and phobias.
Finally, the talking therapy sessions are 45 minutes long and are purely talking therapy without the hypnosis. These are good for those who wish offload and release weight from the shoulders.

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

As the name suggests, solution focused hypnotherapy looks to help people achieve positive changes. Rather than focusing on the β€˜problem’, this approach centres around the solution. Using practical strategies, solution focused hypnotherapy looks to inspire change in a relatively short period of time.

Within Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we combine the best parts of CBT, SFBT, NLP and counselling alongside working with the latest research in the neuroscience. This allows us to be able to make significant changes in our clients lives with a wide range problems.

The approach focuses on the present and the future and not on the past. The Hypnotherapist asks the client to consider their preferred future, for instance, what would be better if the problem had improved? What would have changed? This enables the client’s possible solutions to become more apparent and worked towards.

Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety and this is done very simply through relaxation and visualisation, allowing the client to focus on the positive aspects of their lives that encourages a shift in perspective.
