SIGNS YOU ABSORB OTHERS’ ENERGY

Your mood shifts without a clear reason.
You need solitude to feel like yourself again.
Crowded spaces leave you feeling drained or overwhelmed.

You sense tension before anything is said.
You feel responsible for how others feel.
You struggle to separate your emotions from theirs.

If this feels familiar, you’re not “too sensitive” you’re energetically aware.

From a Reiki perspective, you may be naturally open and receptive, meaning your energy field picks up on what’s around you. Without boundaries or grounding, this can lead to emotional overwhelm, fatigue, and confusion.

But this is something you can learn to manage and protect.

DO:
Regularly ground yourself stand barefoot, sit quietly, or focus on your breath to bring your energy back into your body
Check in with yourself throughout the day: “Is this feeling mine?”
Create energetic boundaries by visualising a protective light or shield around you
Take breaks from busy or overwhelming environments without guilt
Prioritise alone time to reset and rebalance your energy
Practice saying no when something feels too much for you
Cleanse your energy daily (through Reiki, water, fresh air, or quiet time)
Stay connected to your body — tension, heaviness, or fatigue are signals to pause
Surround yourself with people who feel calm, safe, and supportive

DON’T:
Take responsibility for other people’s emotions or reactions
Ignore your need for rest or solitude
Stay in environments that consistently drain your energy
Overanalyse every feeling without checking if it’s yours
Feel guilty for needing space or boundaries
Absorb negativity without releasing it
Push yourself to “cope” in situations that overwhelm you
Lose your sense of self by constantly tuning into others
Dismiss your sensitivity it is a strength when managed well

REIKI TIPS FOR ENERGY PROTECTION & BALANCE:
Place your hands on your heart or solar plexus and take slow, deep breaths to bring your energy back to centre
Visualise Reiki energy flowing through you, clearing anything that isn’t yours
Imagine roots growing from your feet into the ground, grounding and stabilising your energy
After being around others, gently “brush off” your aura with your hands to release excess energy
Set a daily intention: “Only energy that is for my highest good may stay”
Use self-Reiki regularly to strengthen your energy field and create natural protection

Your sensitivity is not a weakness.
It is awareness.

When you learn to protect and care for your energy, it becomes your strength not your burden.

Healing taught me that…

Honesty won’t ruin something real.
Speaking your feelings won’t cost you anything that is truly meant for you.
Setting boundaries won’t scare away the right people.
And being your authentic self will never take away genuine connections.

If anything, it reveals the truth.

From a Reiki perspective, truth and authenticity bring your energy into alignment. When you suppress your feelings, ignore your needs, or stay silent to keep others comfortable, your energy becomes blocked and heavy.

But when you speak honestly, honour your boundaries, and show up as your true self your energy clears, strengthens, and stabilises.

Yes, some people may pull away.
But that is not rejection that is realignment.

Because what is real, healthy, and meant for you will not be threatened by your truth.

Do:
Speak your feelings honestly and calmly
Set boundaries that protect your energy
Honour your needs without guilt
Stand in your truth, even when it feels uncomfortable
Trust that the right people will respect you

Don’t:
Suppress your emotions to keep the peace
Overextend yourself to be accepted
Feel guilty for choosing yourself
Stay in connections that don’t respect your boundaries
Believe that being authentic will cost you something valuable

Healing is not about holding on tighter.
It’s about letting truth lead the way.

You are not losing people by respecting yourself.
You are finding alignment.

SOUL vs. SPIRIT
What’s the difference?

Understanding the difference between the soul and the spirit can deepen your healing, awareness, and connection to yourself.

Spirit
Your higher self.
The divine spark within you.
Pure, eternal, untouched by trauma, pain, or life experiences.
Always connected to Source, always whole.

Soul
Your lived experience.
Your emotions, memories, lessons, and growth.
The part of you that journeys, learns, evolves, and carries your story through lifetimes.

From a spiritual and Reiki perspective:

When we leave this physical body…
The body returns to the earth.
The spirit returns to Source.
The soul continues its journey — evolving, learning, and transforming.

This life is about alignment.
It’s about your soul remembering and reconnecting with your spirit.

When this connection strengthens, everything begins to shift.
You feel more grounded, yet more connected.
More peaceful, yet more purposeful.
More aligned with your truth.

This is where flow begins.
This is where clarity comes.
This is where your purpose starts to unfold naturally.

Do:
Take time to connect inward through stillness or meditation
