Are you a mature driver who relies on being able to drive and lives in Northamptonshire? Then this FREE roadshow is for you!

Driving is an important part of our everyday life, and the Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance (NSRA) is keen to help keep mature drivers to drive safer for longer.

Our driving ability to drive changes over time for varied reasons, especially as we get older. It is important that we recognise whether and how our driving is changing so we can stay safe and protect both ourselves and those around us.

The NSRA’s Mature Driver Roadshow is aimed at drivers aged 60+ and will cover all distinct aspects of driving. There will be a short talk and then time to meet informally with our stand holders.

Free advice will be available on car adaptions, eyesight, how your prescription medications may affect you, and much more. There will also be FREE mature driver assessment available to book, delivered by IAM RoadSmart.

The roadshow takes place on Wednesday, May 7, at the Holiday Inn Corby A43, Geddington Road, Corby, NN18 8ET - (https://orlo.uk/90Z2y).

People ask the price for cleaning per ear. At Hear Here, I charge per head. One fee, regardless of how many ears on the same head need cleaning. Those of us with 3 ears are therefore quids in 😜
(PS that’s my ear and do you know how many times I tried to snap that angle of selfie before I got a successful one? 🤣)

How to make your earwax removal as quick and as comfortable as possible? Oil your ears. For a minimum of 3 days before your appointment, morning and night - more days if possible. This softens the wax, and loosens its grip on the walls or your ear canals, so the wax will slip out more easily. It saves you time and increases your comfort. If you don’t, and your earwax is significant, or well-stuck in your ear, you may have the inconvenience of coming back a second time to finish the job. I just treated someone who followed these instructions to a ‘T’ and they were in and out in less than 15 minutes. This contrasted to their last visit, 2 years ago, which took a lot longer, and required both suction and water irrigation.
If you have small ear canals, use drops rather than a spray, as the weight of a drop will pe*****te small ear canals more effectively - spray may not reach the earwax as effectively. (If you wear hearing aids, check with your audiologist which product is best to use, to avoid clogging up your tubes!).
