As some of our more regular visitors will know, this week we have had an unannounced 3 day inspection from CQC. The CQC are the people that inspect us to make sure that we are following the guidance that they set us.

We would like to say a huge Thank you to those who have visited and spoken to the inspectors, your feedback is very important to us as a team, and without this feedback we cant improve the care services that we give to your loved ones.

Also thank you to the teams that have been on shift this week, you have been yourselves and this has shone through and we are so proud of you all. X

Every month we join our other 3 homes in the North West competing in our residents forum competitions. During August the theme was 'Beach memories' so we had many activities based around the beach and conversations about things everyone remembered and we crafted some Shells and some stain glass windows that we used for our summer party last week. Our Summer Party yesterday (Fri 29th August 2025) we had a great afternoon of music, drinks, laughter and a proper homemade chippy tea of Fish, Chips & Peas. Keith's Cabaret was in performing and we all sang along and danced. One of our residents Gerry and her husband Brian also supported Keith and together they created a great atmosphere, enjoyed by all. ❤️🎶🎤🎉

Thursday 21st August we enjoyed 2 day trips to Windermere Jetty Museum with Steph, Suly and we were joined by one of our great nurses Carol. A lovely day getting some fresh air and enjoying brew and cake looking over the beautiful lake Windermere ❤️x

Happy birthday to Jessie turning 100 years old today, celebrating with family and friends on our Cavell unit. A lovely party with drinks, cake music and catching up with guests from all around the UK. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day Jessie, love from everyone at Heron Hill Care Home. ❤️🎂🎉x

Yesterday afternoon, we enjoyed a visit from musician Hugh Dent. We all love our music afternoons, and residents Gerry and her Husband Brian joined in on their instruments.
