One of the foundational theories of Transactional Analysis (TA) is "Life Script".

Our Life Script according to TA is an unconscious plan formed in early childhood. 👶
Life Script is influenced by messages 💬 we receive from parents and caregivers, shaping our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world.

Script can show up in repetitive patterns in our relationships, careers, or even health.

Ask yourself…

What 3 things went well for me today?

This is quite a different question to ‘what am I grateful for?’ and is likely to elicit a huge variety of answers over time…it’s also a great way of encouraging our thoughts towards a pattern of abundance rather than deficit (noticing what you have rather than what you want…💫).

3 things that have gone well for me today (so far) include:
✨ enjoying a short but invigorating walk with my husband and dog this morning. Chatting, connecting and enjoying our town/nature.
✨taking time to read my book this afternoon. After recently re-watching ‘Olive Kitteridge’, I’m currently reading the second in the Lucy Barton series by Elizabeth Strout. I love stories that allow deep connection to the characters 💫
✨enjoying the daffodils (pictured) in the glass vase that was a gift from my mum.

It was a chilly -7 on my walk this morning. Luckily I like the cold…it clears my head ✨

I listened to the - an episode on motivation. Mel reminds us that ‘knowing your WHY’ is such an important aspect of understanding what motivates us to do some things and not others.

Why am I motivated to get up earlier than I need to, to walk in the freezing cold? I know why…Because getting wrapped up in multiple layers of clothes makes me feel safe and happy (in a cosy way) and being in a natural landscape reminds me that there is beauty in the world and returning home to warmth (and porridge 😋) invites a deep sense of gratitude ✨
