We started this service about 4 years ago when very sadly we lost a special friend.

We purchased a wheelchair and called it Helen’s Chair. Since then, each wheelchair is named in memory of a passed loved one or someone special, each person continuing to give a helping hand to someone in need. We offer to “loan out” our lightweight, easy foldable wheelchairs, including paediatric wheelchairs, on a short-term basis, free of charge, to anyone for any need… recovery from injury or surgery, end of life care or just support to enable mobility and access to daily living with dignity. We now have 19 wheelchairs, and we desperately need to buy wheelchair bags, coseytoes covers, waterproof covers and maintain the wheelchairs we have to enable our users to use our Memory Wheelchairs. Sadly, anything that supports disability is expensive, so we need all your support to raise the funds to help us continue to help others. We work closely with Morecambe Bay Hospital, hospital outreach services such as Physio Support, End of Life Care Team, Community Nurses, local GP Practices, our Local Age Concern and Citizens Advice. Thank you so much!
Since sharing our go fund post last week you have raised Memory Wheelchairs £50.
That £50 will fund buying a new wheelchair bag, cosy and waterproof so we can support our users with all the equipment they need straight away without any worry of further costs. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. 🎅

🕵️‍♂️ We are looking for a charity/charities to support in 2026

We would love to support a charity that really matters next year.

Murder 57 bring people together for unforgettable experiences and we believe in giving something back along the way. That is why we are looking to partner with a charity or two next year.

💔Memory Wheelchairs will be closed tomorrow. 💔

Tomorrow we say our final goodbye to one of the nicest people who walked on this earth. 😢 Sue was and will always be a key figure for Memory Wheelchairs and has helped us immensely setting up the idea and supported us as our Memory Wheelchairs Secretary.
😢 Sue put her heart and soul into everything she did, she was my personal emotional support pillow and dear friend.

Our thoughts go out to her beautiful daughters and their families at this sad time.
