Join me on the afternoon of October's Full Moon for a restorative, nourishing, in-person mini-retreat just outside Kendal.

You will experience a truly immersive afternoon, a chance to withdraw from the world for a bit to focus on nourishing your body, mind + soul

This mini-retreat is an opportunity to experience a deeper yoga practice and longer relaxation than in a regular class

We will also use essential oils, meditate, practice breathwork and dance as we connect, release and refocus ourselves

And, as the day sits at the transition into a new season, we will do some deep journaling to help us align with nature's rhythms and prepare to embrace a shift in energy as we move slowly towards winter

Numbers are limited to ensure intimacy and connection

I am writing a book about neurodiversity + music

It's drenched in 80s nostalgia and is a love song to music and the way it shapes a childhood

It also has tons of practical information on Autism too, as well as busting some myths which still prevail around ASC.

I delve deeply into the concept of masking and how this skill is a huge barrier to girls getting a diagnosis

I am seeking a heart-centred agent to work with, so putting it out into the universe (as well as submitting through agencies too. I'm not a complete woo-woo hippie ๐Ÿ˜‚)

In the spirit of cleansing my life I have decided to remove myself from Facebook

(I am also going through my YouTube and podcast subscriptions and paring everything right back to the richest, most nourishing accounts that I really need in my life and I can tell you it already feels really good)

There are no short cuts

To arrive in a Downward Dog that feels nourishing, easeful, expansive, energising + grounding takes time

It's not about what the pose looks like and everything about how it feels

It takes dedication + consistent practice to create the conditions for you to be able to slide into ease in your down dog

To acclimatise to cold water also takes consistent exposure. There is no way round this. No short cuts

To get the greatest benefits you much give the greatest attention, time + energy

Allowing your practices to become daily rituals, prioritising them + embracing small step by step progress - this is the way to solid resources + deep anchors

Devotion Practice Mindfulness

The only way is through

Don't give up

The expansive clarity + joy awaiting you is worth everything

Enjoy every moment of the process too, obviously

But never lose sight of the transformation which is truly possible

It's easy to let your reading time slip, accidentally allowing it to get squeezed out by all the demands and busyness

Like anything it's a habit + creating healthy habits is just ace!

Reading not scrolling is my current motto. Curling up + getting lost in exciting words + worlds is infinitely better than doom scrolling + comparison

Choosing what we feed our minds with is as important as what we feed our bodies

PERI-MENOPAUSE

This is me walking into it

I believe that this powerful stage of a woman's life should be a time of wisdom, strength + complete confidence

Sadly, it is more often than not characterised by misinformation, shame, isolation + confusion

I want to see women who can step purposefully into a deep, deep connection - with themselves + their bodies, with each other + with nature
And I want to hear women ROAR

I know that our current societal structures + systems are not serving women well at any stage of their life, especially this one

We need to tune in deeply + powerfully to our needs and put ourselves, and our collective, before the tired old needs of the patriarchy

Here's to creating communities that respect, revere + support wise women

SELF CARE

I think sometimes the mere idea of self care can seem like a burden. Yet another thing to fit in to your already busy life. Something that needs time + commitment + money

Not true!

Sometimes, self care can be as simple as going outside + slowing down your mind by mindfully looking at the breathtaking world around you

And no, this isn't fake positivity. 'Cos that's crap. Today has been stressful + long and what I needed was to get down into the grass as marvel at dandelions in the evening sun. Who knew!

It is a tradition widely acknowledged that a Bank Holiday weekend in the Lakes will be wet, and today did not disappoint

Mizzle + mist + views disappeared behind the veil

But, the fresh green of spring was intoxicating, practically florescent against the grey + the little horned lambs were unbearably cute

A rainy day will never put us off venturing into the wilds

To breathe + reset + enjoy time together

Obviously, we hunted out new water on our fantastic mini adventure

It's a never ending joy, this swimming lark, every one different, every one needed, every one exhilarating

Swimming is both solitary and completely uniting - it's just you, submerging, feeling, breathing and it's shared, the people I'm with as well as the wider swimming community

Wherever you live, wherever you're seeking out the next dip, when you're hooked, you know

I have been a book lover all my life. As a shy kid, the entirety of my childhood memories revolve around the books I was devouring + the fantastic escapism they offered

I only feel really comfortable with books around me and keep them stacked in every room. They are the first thing I pack if I go away anywhere and often take one to work even though I know I won't have any chance to open it. Just knowing it's in my bag is such a comfort

Over the past few years, as life has got more intense + busy and I've been juggling so many things, I knew that my reading was slipping. I would save teetering piles to lose myself in over the holidays but found I was crawling through a book at a painfully slow, disjointed way during term time

But that's over. Something happened over Easter and....the books are back. Hurrah ๐Ÿ˜Š

And, as reading is so important for our wellbeing, I am adding book appreciation to my feed. Hope you're with me

I'm starting with this gem which has been kept close since Christmas. What a beautiful way to discover new poets, read diverse voices + luxuriate in poetic language. A poem a day? Yes please

Did you know you can change the feel of your entire day by starting it off on purpose!

Consciously + mindfully starting the day YOUR WAY is empowering

You can curate a vibe of high energy, focus and go-get-em with affirmations + movement or set yourself up for a day of peace + patience with meditation or a gratitude practice

Obviously no practice will make you immune to life's curveballs. Your day will still throw stuff at you and you may have switched on autopilot or lost your s**t by 10am

But, by starting the day with intention you are at least giving yourself a fighting chance
