The Summer Reading Challenge has landed in your local Library and we’d love you to get involved! 👏

Delivered locally by our Libraries, the Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4 to 12 to read six library books over the summer holidays. From fiction and non-fiction, to poetry, joke books or picture books, children can read any literature of their choice.

This year’s theme is ‘Story Garden’ and aims to inspire children to tap into a world of imagination through reading, exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature.

It’s free to sign up, all you need is a Library card, and our staff and volunteers can help get you ready to read 📖

Once you’re signed up, you’ll receive your Story Garden collector folder, collecting stickers and incentives over the course of the summer holidays.

Those that complete the challenge will be entered into a prize draw for a selection of prizes including a one-year family membership to the National Trust, a magazine subscription for one year, and a one day family adventure pass generously donated by The Cumberland and Gilbert Gikes and Gordon Ltd.

Completers of the challenge will also receive a certificate and medal 🎖️

Some libraries will also be hosting events to celebrate this year’s Summer Reading Challenge with stories, colouring and games. Find out more about the events on our Trybooking page.

💖 MAMA PAMPER 💖 Our 2nd ever Mama Pamper was a huge success today! Thank you to everyone that came along. Also massive thanks to my sister for making it possible 🫶🏻 It’s been so lovely to be able to give my mums some time for themselves to relax and I got lots of snuggles with the babies 🥰 Can’t wait for the next one! Special thanks to Saz & Sew for donating the lovely facecloths for the pamper bags too 💖
