Westmorland Homecare - South Lakes We have founded Westmorland Homecare on traditional values and we are passionate about providing the highest quality care.

Our mission is to change the lives of people in our community, both clients and staff, by creating something special. Westmorland Homecare was founded in 2017 by Doctors Josh Macaulay and Chris Moss. Both had experience of caring for people in their NHS roles as an A&E doctor and Anaesthetist but wanted to help people more than just whilst in hospital. Going into hospital can be a scary experience for anyone and the feeling of getting back home is like no other. As they say, there’s no place like home. Josh and Chris saw people come into hospital after having poor care at home and saw people who couldn’t return to their own homes because the right support wasn’t available for them. This was when Westmorland Homecare was born. We believe that no longer should people be forced into care homes and nursing homes, no longer should people suffer ill health and poor quality of life. Every individual should be free to remain in their home as long as they wish, they should be able to be as active and independent as ever before and should continue to have happy and fulfilling lives. We want our clients to thrive and live life to the full no matter what age they are. That is our mission and something we are dedicated to delivering every day.

At Westmorland Homecare, we consider it a real privilege to be able to help people with their personal care, and our actions and responsibilities in this area are something we take extremely seriously.

All of our staff are highly trained to provide the best personal care to our customers as possible.
This can include assistance with personal hygiene and washing, to getting dressed in the morning and ready for bed at the end of the day – simple activities that most of us take for granted, but something that can help keep us well, both physically and emotionally.

Meet our wonderful Administration Coordinator, Ellie.

“I have recently joined Westmorland Homecare as part of the Administrator team, after working in care for the past 4 years since leaving college where I completed my Health and Social Care, I am excited for my new role.

I live locally near Crooklands with my family and our animals including our highland cow, Ernie and my dog, Pepper.

When I am not at work I like to be with my friends and family, I enjoy a scenic walk and a ‘yap’. I spend a lot of time with my local young farmers club where we raise money for charity, volunteer in the community as well as doing a range of fun activities.”
