If you get pain in a specific exercise.

You have a very strong chance it’s that exercise that needs to be looked at and improved or altered.

When stretch you are only doing on piece of the puzzle.

You are missing the contraction.

Moving a muscle should not make you tight is should loosen it.

Start taking muscles through full range under a light load to feel loser.

On serious note sometimes.

Foot is improving so should be back running by end of week. But things happen when training for something it’s how you react to it that keeps you going.

Can we stop telling clients that their muscles aren’t firing. Unless they have a nerve issue that is truly causing the muscle not to fire.

The joint position will dictate what muscle works. So if you muscle testing someone and they are in extension. The glute is already short so there will be a lack of power.

Just get your joints to move through as much range as they possibly can.

Spoke to so many people to say they been told it’s there posture

It’s because a muscle isn’t firing.

Keep it simple. Find out what’s changed and work back from there.

If things don’t change then get imaging to rule out anything sinister.

If all clear, then change your approach.

Lower load higher reps. Great for learning a skill and also working mobility

Client here flare up in back pain. After 30mins of massage we looked at getting the hips to move through range to create some light lumbar spinal flexion at bottom on squat. With the aim to get some tissue in the lower back lengthening and shortening.

Change the processing and the outcome will change.

Tightness within a muscle is just a feeling.

Take it as a sign that a joint struggles to move through range.

Get your joints to move through as much range a possible. So the muscle can fully lengthen and shorten.
