Home from Therapy Expo once again, with a shopping bag full of fun new tools and a head full of fun new knowledge. Did you know that as a member of the Sports Therapy Association, I complete at least 24 hours of CPD every year? This year so far, I’ve studied women’s health and fitness, scar massage therapy and fibromyalgia, and at Therapy Expo added in talks on taping, lower back pain, communication skills, and the effects of perimenopause. All part of making sure that I stay up to date as a practitioner, and you get the best treatment I can give!

Very proud to be showing up at work today as a newly minted Restore Scar Therapy Practitioner - and to have seen my first scar work client already! Impressive stuff as I haven’t even got it on the website for booking yet 😅

RESTORE scar therapy treatment can help care for your scar and the underlying tissue. We can focus on issues related to a surgery or trauma injury such as:

• pain after surgery or injury
• limited movement or tightness
• pulling or puckering
• fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions

Your appointment will include a special scar massage - at the right pace and pressure to suit you - plus useful advice for caring for your scar at home, and treatment to support your general wellbeing with my existing physical therapy skills.

A RESTORE scar therapy appointment in the first 6 months after a scar is created is really helpful (even if you are not experiencing any unwanted complications) but it's never too late to benefit from scar treatment.

This is now ready to book online. As an introductory offer, until Christmas it will be the same price as my standard massage therapy appointments. So if you would like see what difference scar therapy could make to you, this is a great time to do so!

Volunteer needed!

As some of you know, I offer pregnancy massage and pregnancy massage partner teaching sessions, where your birthing partner can learn how to give a relaxing massage for pregnancy and labour. I’d like to offer a series of short videos of the techniques I teach, to be sent as a private link for clients after their session as a memory aid.

I therefore need to find a pregnant lady to model for these videos! You will get a free pregnancy massage in return.

Some exciting news… next week I will be heading off on a two day course in scar therapy! Learning techniques to encourage the formation of healthy and functional scars, and to improve even old scars - not just cosmetically, but functionally as well. I’ve just passed the theory module, so now I’m ready for the practical!

My Kenninghall room is back up and running, but there is still some sporadic work ongoing in the house (such as today!). This means that occasionally there are vans parked on the driveway. At these times, you can park in front of the fence, as shown below.

If there are no vans, please pull right onto the driveway 😊

*LOCATION UPDATE*

From the 1st of September, I will once again be working from my Kenninghall treatment room.

An email will be going out soon to all clients but please be aware - any and all appointments booked for a date after the 1st of September will be at Kenninghall and not at Diss. My remaining August appointments will be at Diss (or home visits by arrangement - those having those will alrady know).

I can’t wait to welcome clients back to my treatment room. But a huge thanks must go to F I A Nails, Beauty & Wellness for hosting me for the last few months, and to all my clients for your support during this period! Couldn’t have done it without you guys.

Continuing the theme - talking about the soft tissue implications of menopause on the podcast has given me the final nudge to make a start on the fabulous Third Age Woman course with ! I’m one video in and already buzzing with new information, heaven knows what I’ll be like in 39 or so hours time 😅 But given that women will spend on average ONE THIRD of our lives in this whole menopause transition, it seems to me only sensible that we learn about it. Looking forward to sharing all this new knowledge with my clients and supporting you through this time of life!
