My previous book The Happy Menopause: Smart Nutrition to Help You Flourish came out when were in lockdown, so I wasn’t able to do the audio recording myself. 😢 That was such a disappointment, but there was no way around it. So I was THRILLED to get into the studio to record for my new book. 🤩

15 years ago, I launched my very first site – and I had no idea where the journey would take me. Since then:

🎧 The Happy Menopause podcast has had 670k+ downloads and been shortlisted three times for the International Women's Podcast Awards
🏢 I’ve delivered nutrition, wellbeing and menopause workshops to workplaces across the UK and overseas
📺 My media work has grown – with features on TV, radio, in the national press, and on stage at health conferences
📚 And now… my fourth nutrition book is about to hit the shelves!

…a bowl of cherries. One of those perfect summer treats! I just couldn’t be happier that cherry season came a week early at my farmer's market, thanks to all the recent sunshine.
The soft fruit season is one of the many brilliant things about the summer and cherries are one of my favourites. Not only are they juicy and full of flavour, but they have health benefits too, so it’s a win-win!
• 💤 Promote better sleep – naturally rich in melatonin
• 💪 Fight inflammation – high in antioxidants like anthocyanins
• ❤️ Support heart health – may help reduce blood pressure and cholesterol
• 🦵 Ease gout symptoms – shown to help lower uric acid levels
• 💩 Support digestion – a natural source of fibre
• 🧠 Protect brain health – thanks to anti-inflammatory compounds
• 🍭 Curb sweet cravings – naturally sweet and low GI
Most of the research focuses on tart cherry juice, which tends to have stronger effects from a therapeutic perspective. But sweet cherries still support these areas, just in a gentler way.
