Many of us don't know how to slow down. Life doesn't allow us the luxury.

It's not luxury though. It's crucial for our wellbeing that we prioritise rest and peace.

I've had to learn over the years to slow down and allow myself the rest and peace it craves. It's been a process and something I continually work on. When life speeds up again and I forgot my grounding practices, I'm only human.

If you also find it difficult to slow down, rest and find peace you are not alone.

Please know it's not you , it's a conditioning that we are only worthy when we are achieving, productive and busy.

It's no overnight fix. Small gradual steps can make big shifts. So you can start to feel, life appreciate it and stop running on empty.

My first introduction to essential oils came from my mum.
I remember lavender gently burning in the background to help us relax,
lemongrass for that fresh, clean feeling,
mandarin when something softer was needed.
They were part of the home, but that’s where it ended.
I didn’t really use essential oils not in their therapeutic form, not with intention.
Fast forward to me at 28.
Burnt out. Tired. Searching for something deeper.
That’s when I went back to college to train as a Complementary Therapist and everything shifted.
I learnt that essential oils weren’t just nice smells
They were powerful allies for the nervous system.
For stress.
For grounding.
For emotional safety.
Now, 8 years later, I can honestly say I rely on them.
More and more, they’ve become my daily crutch.
My goto when life feels loud.
My way back to calm when I feel unsteady.
My anchor when I need to re-ground myself.
I don’t go anywhere without an essential oil of some sort.
It’s in my bag, by my bed, in my treatment room woven into my everyday life.
What started as a gentle childhood memory has become one of my greatest tools for wellbeing… and one I’ll never stop being grateful for 💛

We all know that life can feel hard. It can feel like it's one thing after another. We can't always control what comes our way with life's challenges. And that's the reality, we can learn how to cope though. I'm a strong believer in this how we cope with stress and life is everything for our happiness and wellbeing.

We can't always control the waves but we can learn how to surf them.
