He could barely stand up yesterday.
Today he’s representing JKA England in Europe.
This week has been rough.
Not out of bed - No energy - Completely wiped.
But at 5am this morning, he got up, got to Gatwick, and showed up for his team.
That’s the kind of resilience you don’t always see.
Not the loud, “push through at all costs” kind,
but the quiet decision to keep going when it matters most.
As parents, we are beyond proud.
Not for any result this weekend, but for who he is becoming in the process.
Because this is what really counts:
Learning to face challenges
Building inner strength
Trusting yourself when things feel hard
This is the work I care so deeply about -
supporting teenagers and adults to develop that kind of resilience, especially when anxiety, pressure or overwhelm make it feel impossible.
Whatever happens this weekend, you’ve already won in the ways that matter most ❤️🤍💙
Huge thanks to for helping Michael build that skill, discipline and resilience.
Thanks to Miranda, England Team, for looking after him whilst he’s away and making sure he eats.
Thanks to my husband Rob, who drove to his Uni yesterday to collect all his stuff and was up ironing his gi into the early hours. Those things are impossible to iron!!
