Stress doesn’t just live in the mind, it lives in the body.
When we are under prolonged stress, the nervous system stays on high alert. Muscles tighten, breathing changes, sleep is affected and we can feel constantly “on edge.”
Do you notice when you are stressed? do you feel it in your body?
Some people are not even aware that they are stressed. Some of my clients, when they come to see me, are not even aware that they are stressed. When I am muscle testing, the body indicates that there is stress, the adrenals are stresses, the cortisol levels are raised.
Do you notice when you’re stressed, or do you only feel it in your body?
Many people aren’t consciously aware they’re under stress at all. Life has a way of keeping us “going” even when the nervous system is under pressure.
In my work, I often see this with clients. Through muscle testing, the body clearly shows signs of stress, with the adrenals working harder than they should and cortisol levels elevated even when the person doesn’t feel particularly stressed.
When we are experiencing long term stress this can affect our body in so many ways and we can be susceptible to:
💚 Digestive issues
💛 Muscle tention
🧡 Low energy
💙 Difficult sleeping
💜 Brain fog, difficulty focusing and concentrating
❤️ Weight gain especially around the belly
💚 Weakened immune system so susceptible to infections
The body always tells the truth and when we listen, we can gently support it back into balance.

It’s not about eliminating stress, it’s about creating daily practices that return you to calm. Also, there is very little point in ploughing through especially when you feel that your immune system has been compromised, it just wont work and just leave you more depleted and exhausted.
