Stress doesn’t just live in the mind, it lives in the body.

When we are under prolonged stress, the nervous system stays on high alert. Muscles tighten, breathing changes, sleep is affected and we can feel constantly “on edge.”

Do you notice when you are stressed? do you feel it in your body?

Some people are not even aware that they are stressed. Some of my clients, when they come to see me, are not even aware that they are stressed. When I am muscle testing, the body indicates that there is stress, the adrenals are stresses, the cortisol levels are raised.

Do you notice when you’re stressed, or do you only feel it in your body?

Many people aren’t consciously aware they’re under stress at all. Life has a way of keeping us “going” even when the nervous system is under pressure.

In my work, I often see this with clients. Through muscle testing, the body clearly shows signs of stress, with the adrenals working harder than they should and cortisol levels elevated even when the person doesn’t feel particularly stressed.

When we are experiencing long term stress this can affect our body in so many ways and we can be susceptible to:

💚 Digestive issues
💛 Muscle tention
🧡 Low energy
💙 Difficult sleeping
💜 Brain fog, difficulty focusing and concentrating
❤️ Weight gain especially around the belly
💚 Weakened immune system so susceptible to infections

The body always tells the truth and when we listen, we can gently support it back into balance.

At Balance Your Health, we work with the body’s own innate wisdom to identify where stress is being held and what is needed to restore balance. Rather than just talking everything through, we listen to the body’s responses and gently support it back into regulation.

Many clients tell me they feel calmer, clearer and more grounded after a session, like their body can relax and can finally exhale.

It’s not about eliminating stress, it’s about creating daily practices that return you to calm. Also, there is very little point in ploughing through especially when you feel that your immune system has been compromised, it just wont work and just leave you more depleted and exhausted.

Trauma doesn’t live in the mind alone, it lives in the body and nervous system.

If you have tried “thinking your way out” of anxiety, fear, or overthinking and it hasn’t worked, there is nothing wrong with you.

Thoughts are not something we control.
We can’t stop them from arising and we’re not meant to.
Thoughts come and go that’s what minds do.
Having thoughts doesn’t mean anything has gone wrong.
It means you’re human.

Even though they feel very real, they are not who you are.
They are experiences passing through awareness.
When the mind is busy, kindness matters more than control.
Rather than trying to silence your thoughts, bury them or push them away, see if you can meet yourself with gentleness and kindness.

Gentle practices such as stillness, grounding, breathwork, EFT, mindfulness, meditation, gratitude, healthy diet, exercise, taking nutritional supplements, frequency and energy support can help bring you back out of the mind and into the body where calm and clarity live naturally. These can also have a positive impact on your life.

We spend so much of our time in busyness, living with problems we don’t stop long enough to discover what we need. Dropping into stillness is a wonderful way to help. Do you ever wake from a dream feeling angry or deeply frustrated?

Last night’s dream did exactly that for me. I woke with my jaw tightly clenched and my arms aching from holding so much tension, fists and jaw locked in through the night 😔

Moments like this remind me how profoundly our inner world speaks through the body.

This is also when I feel especially grateful for the tools I have to support myself through emotions like anger and frustration. I used Healy programmes to gently soothe and calm my mind and nervous system and Infopathy to help release the pain held in my shoulders, neck and upper body. I then imprinted my water with beautiful healing frequencies and energy, allowing the body to receive support on every level.

The joy of having energy and frequency devices at my fingertips feels like such a gift. So much gratitude 🙏

Tune into whatever frequency you need right now.

Tune into what your mind and body really need.

What do you feel you need right now?

Do you feel you need to always be doing?

Do you feel that you always need to be giving?

Winter is the time of the year to retreat and rest.

To slow down and nourish yourself.

It is time for being.

In Chinese medicine, we are in the element of Water which is connected to the kidneys and bladder. Kidneys and bladder are associated with the emotion of fear.

Fear, anxiety and panic. These are connected to our feeling safe, if we don’t feel safe we aren’t grounded.

This really is a time to tune into you and get to know yourself better and understand what your needs truly are.

It’s a time to, have more sleep, eat warm nourishing foods, exercise gently and to really focus on what your body needs, rather than continually pushing through.

Rest is essential, every part of your body needs to rest.

It can be so hard to rest when there is so much to do.

How do you feel when you are resting. Do you feel guilty? Do you actually feel relaxed or do you notice that your body feel tight, your shoulders are raised, your hands are clasped together.

Or, have you never paid attention and think that just because you are sitting, watching TV or reading, that you are relaxed.

Pay attention to how you really feel.

Begin by closing your eyes and focus on your body, each part of your body. How does it feel?

Ask yourself, ‘what if I could rest more, what if I could just be more’

What would this feel like?

How would it feel to just be?

Give yourself permission to rest, to calm your mind and body.

It is safe to rest, to make yourself a priority.

As we move toward 2026, we are also moving from a Year 9 into a Year 1 in numerology.

2025 has been a year of endings, shedding, emotional clearing, letting go and bringing old patterns, grief, stress, or unresolved feelings to the surface. For many, it’s been tender, raw, exhausting and deeply revealing.

2026 begins a new cycle.
That said true new beginnings don’t come from pushing forward they come when the nervous system feels safe enough to release what it’s been holding. When your nervous system is supported and regulated you are allowing calmness and serenity within. When your mind and body are in balance and your nervous system is regulated, you are enabling healing to take place.
As I step into the new year, my work will be even more focused on supporting the nervous system and emotional wellbeing, including stress, trauma, anger, grief and loss, helping the mind and body to settle so new beginnings can emerge naturally.

My last session before Christmas was truly special. 💫💚

A beautiful healing journey weaving together kinesiology, reiki, crystal and sound healing. A beautiful space of deep relaxation and rebalance.

There was such a quiet magic in the room, the kind that brings deep calm, that softens the nervous system, calms the mind and reminds the body how it can feel when in balance.

Most people wait until they’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or burnt out before they reach for support.

Stop doing that.

Your nervous system has been communicating with you, probably for longer than you realise.

Take time to nurture your wellbeing during the busiest and often most emotional time of the year 💚

As the pace of life speeds up and the calendar fills, it becomes even more important to slow down and listen to your own body, energy and nervous system. This season can be beautiful but it can also be overwhelming and for many, Christmas isn’t the joyful, effortless time we would love it to be.

Some people are navigating family disconnection, strained relationships, or old patterns that resurface. Others are moving through grief, missing loved ones, or experiences loneliness in the middle of all the noise.

If this is you, please know that you are not alone.

Here are some simple ways to stay grounded, resourced and connected to yourself:

💚 Pause to breathe.
A few slow, conscious breaths can calm your nervous system and bring you back into your body. Place one hand on your heart and the other on your belly and let yourself soften.

💛 Check in with your energy.
Notice where your energy feels, drained, or scattered.
A gentle kinesiology correction, a few tapping points, or a moment of intention can help you reconnect to your centre.

🧡 Let your frequency rise.
Lean into what soothes and supports you. If you use tuning forks, sound bowels, crystals, Reiki, or a frequency machine like a Healy these can support you. If not simply give yourself space and quiet stillness. Even two minutes can shift your whole field.

❤️ Say no with kindness.
You don’t need to attend every event or meet every expectation. Protecting your energy is a form of self-respect, especially when emotions run deeper at this time of year.

💙 Create tiny pockets of nourishment.
A warm drink, a grounding walk, journaling, stretching, or a moment of silence. Small rituals keep you connected to yourself.

This is your gentle reminder that you don’t have to be festive if your heart needs something different. You are allowed to honour your own pace, your own emotions and your own healing.
