Its Real Bread Week this week along with National Banana Bread Day so guess what we had a go at making ? ..... you guessed it - Banana Bread 🍌with some cheeky chocolate chips. We are very proud of our banana bread and it got top marks from everyone who had some wirh their afternoon tea. Also this week, resident got to choose and make their own mocktails to mark Bartender Day. The only trouble was that several fancied the real thing so out came the Brandy and the Baileys for those who wanted a little tipple.

The weather improved slightly over the weekend so we jumped at the opportunity to get out and about for some fresh air and change of scenery. Grace took a trip over the road to St. Ed's Church Hall coffee morning. She had look arpund the bric-a-brac stall and enjoyed some delicious homemade cake and a hot drink before heading home for lunch. On Sunday, Jean took a trip around the village stopping at the local shop. We were very pleased to see some beautiful signs of Spring. Within the home we took a leaf out of Lound Hall’s book and practised our bowling skills. Can you see a Manor vs Lound tournament on the horizon? 🎳

🇨🇳Today marks the first day of The Chinese New Year and its The Year of The Horse 🐴Christine our cook prepared a Chinese Banquet for lunch 🥢complete with a delicious Oriental Fruit Salad for dessert and Fortune Cookies 🥠 After lunch we spent time chatting and making our own chinese lanterns. When we were talking about languages, specifically Cantonese our Freda surprised us by saying " Gung Hay Fat Choy" A quick Google Search confirmed it is a traditional Chinese New Year greeting which translates to "Wishing you happiness and prosperity" and Freda remembered being told it by a child many years ago. So, from all of us here at Manor Farm we say- Gung Hay Fat Choy! to you all 🥰
Today is also Shrove Tuesday and, of course, we couldn't let it pass without some pancake fun. This afternoon we had a go at tossing pancakes before choosing which toppings to have on our own ones at snack time. Yum.😋

Yesterday our friends from Pakefield Pastures visited and brought with them some of their smaller furry friends. Alf, Peter and CeCe to name a few. Cuddles and carrots were the order of the day and Everybody had an opportunity to join in. We dont know who was more relaxed , our lovely residents or our visitors who appeared very comfortable. Yes, we do believe Berry was trying to sneak one away to keep 😂🤣

Mike had a lovely warm welcome at Barclays Bank in Great Yarmouth this morning after their Manager, Laura ( not pictured) extended an invitation to go and have pictures taken with The Premiere League Cup and The Women's Super League Trophy. Mike also had a go at 'Find the ball'. We couldn't visit Yarmouth without having some delicious, 'Market' Chips, surrounded by some beady-eyed, pigeons. Mike had a quick 'Yarn with Ernie' before warming up with a hot drink and sweet treat before heading home. We were really lucky with the weather and got back just in time.
