Lorraine Takaira spent her final days surrounded by love, laughter, and expert care. Her daughter Cathryn said, “We truly made it our second home… we felt seen, supported, and cared for.”

£430 raised in memory of Flora 💚

Well done and a huge thank you to Gemma and Holly for taking part in the Inflatable 5K, raising money for Cransley Hospice Trust in memory of Gemma's mum, Flora.

Gemma shared:

"On 4th August 2024, mum sadly passed away after a 3 year battle with bowel cancer. She spent her final weeks at Cransley Hospice, who were amazing. They made her comfortable, they supported her and provided so much emotional support to all mum’s friends and family."

"We cannot thank them enough for what they did."

Hummingbird Bereavement Service 💚

Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity and Cransley Hospice Trust have teamed up together to jointly fund a free counselling and bereavement support service for our community.

The Hummingbird Service provides free counselling and bereavement support to patients, family and friends at any point from the diagnosis of a terminal illness, and is available to anyone over the age of 18 living in Northamptonshire.

The NEW service, commissioned by the hospice charities will be delivered by Age UK Northamptonshire and Northamptonshire Mind supporting people through their grief journey.

Curated has a wonderful children's corner offering a great variety of books in all kinds of genres.

By supporting your local charity shop, opposite the bus station, you're helping us provide end of life care to your local community.

💚 NEW Comfort Pebbles 💚

At Cransley Hospice Trust, the care extends beyond patients, supporting families, especially children coping with loss.

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to create Memory Boxes filled with thoughtful items, including a hand-painted Comfort Pebble. With three beautiful styles to choose from, including our new hearts and rainbows, these pebbles offer children a gentle sense of connection and comfort when they need it most.

Eve, our Family Liaison, shared: "A girl I supported kept her pebble in her pocket at school. When she felt sad or missed her mum, she’d stroke it gently. It brought her peace."

Our Story

We provide care for patients with a life-limiting illness who need the specialist help of hospice care.

This care takes in all aspects of the person i.e. physical and mental health, spiritual and social care (holistic care) and is available in the hospice building (inpatient unit) and at home (whether this your own home, a care home etc.).

Cransley Hospice Trust is a local charity which every year provides funding to support the care provided by Cransley Hospice.
