🧭 What Makes Empatia Different

A rare blend of emotional and practical support. Coaching with clinical depth – sessions are delivered by a specialist dementia nurse with 20+ years of experience, not a generalist coach or volunteer. Not a β€˜one-size-fits-all’ approach – sessions are adapted to your situation, personality, and family dynamics. Whole-family support – support for the person supporting

and caring for a loved one, as well as the person living with dementia is hard to find. At Empatia we work with carers and the person living with dementia family together or separately depending on need. Psychologically informed – everything is based on solid psychological and dementia care models. Consistency – clients often struggle with fragmented services. Here, they get ongoing, trusted support from the same person.

🌱 What Empatia Improves in Peoples Lives

Reduces emotional overwhelm like guilt, grief, stress, and carer burnout

Helps families stay at home together for longer by avoiding crises (like sudden hospitalisation or emergency care moves)

Strengthens identity and connection – for both the person caring and supporting a loved one living with dementia

Improves day-to-day coping, especially around communication and behaviour changes

Helps the family make sense of the condition, not just manage it

Creates space to plan ahead with clarity instead of reacting in crisis

πŸ“’What you can expect

Clarity when you feel lost

A plan when things feel unpredictable

A calmer, more connected home life

It can prevent bigger costs later, like early care home admission, lost work days, or breakdown of relationships. Free services are often time-limited or reactive β€” Empatia offers depth, consistency, and a real relationship that grows with you.

The future of dementia support is changing β€” and it’s exciting to see.

A new Β£1 million award-winning innovation, AI smart glasses by CrossSense, has been designed to help people with early-stage dementia with everyday tasks, confidence, and independence at home.

This matters because dementia support should never be only about what someone has lost.

It should also be about helping people keep doing what matters to them for as long as possible.

I provide unique knowledge and skills development through Empatia Specialist Dementia Coaching to support people living with dementia and families who often feel left to work things out alone after diagnosis.

Practical support, emotional guidance, and the right tools can make a huge difference.

Technology will never replace human connection β€” but when used well, it can be another powerful layer of support.

I support people living with dementia and those close to them throughout the journey β€” from the early questions and uncertainty, to adapting, coping, planning ahead, and finding the best way forward at every stage.

Feeling a little wistful/jealous today.

Last year I ran the London Marathon for Headway East Northants East Northants. This year I should’ve been running for Rare Dementia Supportβ€” a cause that means a great deal to me and to many people living with rare and young onset dementia.

Plans changed, but next year I’ll literally be back on my feet.

Good luck to everyone running tomorrow. It really is the best feeling ever (probably not at the time)!
