Today is International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day which aims to bring people together to discuss healing, hope, and grief related to loss caused by su***de. If you have lost someone to su***de, know someone who has, and/or want to support su***de prevention efforts, participating in related survivor day events on this date can be rewarding and impactful.

Every type of grief can cause intense, complex feelings. But research shows that those of us bereaved by su***de may have especially complicated feelings. And we might experience extra struggles while trying to cope with the loss.

This might include feeling things like shame or guilt. This is a common reaction. But remember that neither you, nor the person who died by su***de, are to blame for their loss.

If you are looking for some support options, advice or guidance after losing some to su***de then follow the link below. We are here for you. 💙

Todays feedback comes from an individual who has recently attended our anger management course. This feedback perfectly sums up what we aim to do on this course and shows the impact it can have on peoples daily lives.

“My problem was angry outbursts that were impacting my marriage. The course taught me how to identify and recognise the triggers and how to manage them.”

In this course, we’ll look to gain a better understanding of anger, its implications consequences and how it affects us, and what individuals can do to reduce the impact it has on their life and improve their wellbeing. Follow the link below for further information and to see our referral form for this course.

Movember is a time to focus on the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of men everywhere. We are encouraging you to 👇

👟 Get active.

🩺 Book that check-up.

💬 Talk about how you’re really feeling.

Real strength isn’t about staying silent. It’s about speaking up. Men deserve safe spaces to talk about what they’re feeling. Let’s normalise conversations about mental health, vulnerability, and support.
Because talking about it doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human!

If you live in the local area and are looking to access a men's group then why not check out Brotherhood. This is a great local service offering a weekly group for men 18+ in the local area.

Two new support groups have recently started in Kettering!

These groups have been set up by two Community Wellbeing Champions who are looking to make a positive difference in our local community. These champions are part of our Community Wellbeing Champion service and have undertaken training with Callum from Kettering Mind.

Gingerbread is a peer support group for single parents. The idea of this group is to create an environment where single parents can discuss challenges, offload and support each other.

We Women Matter is a support group for women looking to connect with other women in a safe space. If your feeling lonely, experiencing difficulties or looking to create friendships then drop-in!

See both images for times and locations of both groups. A huge well done to our champions who are making a positive difference within our local community! 💙

Today is world kindness day, which is a global celebration dedicated to promoting kindness and compassion across communities. The day encourages individuals to perform acts of kindness, big or small, to make the world a better place. From helping a stranger to supporting a friend in need, kindness can take many forms, and this day highlights the power of kind actions in creating positive change.

On this day we wanted to share some of the kindness we have recently received! We really supported an individual in our Crisis Café who following a positive visit to Kettering Mind decided to come back and bring our team some flowers and brownies. Kind gestures like this make a real difference.💙

This week is Anti-Bullying week with the theme: Power for Good.

Every year, bullying impacts the lives of countless young people and silence helps it grow. That’s why, this Anti-Bullying Week, we’re empowering young people to use their Power for Good to safely speak up and raise awareness when they see bullying, face to face or online.

Lasting change needs all of us. From playgrounds to parliament, our homes to our phones, we all have a part to play. Together, we can use our Power for Good to end bullying.
