Local Funeral Directors Collect Over 800 Easter Eggs for Local Hospices
Dignity Funerals’ branches – E Hooper and Son, L J Guyan, and G F Hunt – spread joy with generous community Easter initiative
In a heartwarming show of community spirit, three local funeral homes – E Hooper and Son, L J Guyan, and G F Hunt, all part of Dignity Funerals – have successfully collected 803 Easter eggs to donate to a nearby hospice.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, businesses, and staff, this year’s collection brought smiles to children and families supported by the hospice over the Easter weekend.
The donated eggs have been distributed Charlton Farm - South West Children's' Hospice, where they’ve helped bring comfort, cheer, and a little extra sweetness to those facing difficult times.
“We are overwhelmed by the kindness shown by our community,” said Michelle Chenoweth, Funeral Director from E Hooper and Son. “This collection is more than just chocolate – it’s about letting people know they are remembered, valued, and supported.”
The initiative, now a cherished annual tradition across many Dignity branches, highlights the ongoing commitment of funeral professionals not just to provide compassionate care during times of loss, but also to be a positive force in their local communities.
L J Guyan’s team added, “Every egg donated was a small act of kindness, and together, they created something truly special. We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who contributed.”
G F Hunt echoed the sentiment, saying, “Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to be able to support our local hospices in such a meaningful way.”
