“It’s time women with ADHD were taken seriously…” - The ADHD Women’s Wellbeing Toolkit book.

What a gripping statement right?! And I couldn’t agree more.

I encourage my daughter… To be her best authentic self daily. To embrace who she is. To be proud of all that she is and will be.

My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD inattentive and Autism this summer, and ever since I have been researching more and more, and now I’m buying / reading books.

Plus, all of my current clients have ADHD and a fair few past clients too - so I think it’s worth while to read more, to help create better and more aligned support for them.

World Mental Health Day!

It’s hard to know what to write for world mental health day because it’s affected our family in more ways than one this year.

Now I could sit and write so much about my experience, my family’s and friends experience, however I don’t want to do that today. We talk about mental health a lot and we honour what we need at all times, some days it’s more than others.

I’d rather just approach the day for what it is - raising awareness!

So today, if you know someone that needs some support then if you can just kick off a conversation or let them know that you’re thinking about them in some way... you really don’t know how much you could help someone just by doing something so small.

Have you seen the calendar???

Omg, it’s insanely fulfilling my highly organised life! 🧡😅

I have wanted this calendar for about a year but really couldn’t justify the cost of it. However, I heard from Jemma .lady.1 that it might be going on the Prime deals this week… and guess what - it did, and I just had to get it!

Not only is calendar management something I love doing, it’s actually a major part of my work as a VA…

Plus, as a neurodivergent family - I’m hoping it’ll help keep us all on track 🤞🙏

I think the rewards system will be a great motivator!

TIME BLOCKING:

I already time block my calendar, it’s something I’ve done for many years, and also teach my clients to do. I’ll be honest… after watching day one I have already adjusted my calendar and put in a CEO day - I’ve named it ‘CEO DAY’ to ensure that I act like a CEO on that day, and prioritise moving my business forward. 

When I saw that Carrie also time blocks by using her Google calendar, I literally thought “oh my gosh, this is the best piece of advice she could give you/us all on the first day of this Boot Camp!”

👉 Now my advice would be to work out what your priorities are - you have to make room in that calendar, otherwise it just won’t work.

Yes, you have things that you do currently and it may be taking up all the time in your day… but things won’t change, if your schedule doesn’t change.

So, set aside 30 minutes to an hour and look at your calendar to see where you can time block and make room for your CEO day.

Last thing, don’t forget that this calendar is negotiable… it’s your life… you’re allowed to change things up… and you’re allowed to make space for more…

🧘‍♀️ Absolutely beautiful weekend at the yoga studio with some gorgeous human beings!

Yesterday we did a Hatha class, followed by meeting TJ Power and learning about The Dose Effect, then dived more into yoga poses.

Today we created a class plan based around the ‘humble flamingo’ and then we actually did the class; which was hilarious because we added in many tricky poses 🤣

We then had an afternoon of diving into many other poses and perfecting them.

🧡 It’s been a really great experience this weekend. I’ve been sooo tired, but it’s oh so worth it!

So thankful for a beautiful weekend with my yogi friends 🧘‍♀️

The body really is a fascinating and amazing thing, that supports us so much.

As someone who’s learnt a lot about our nervous system, looking at it from a yoga point of view just shows how much more there is to learn and how important it is to know this stuff; so that we can support ourselves.

Plus, I was able to look at cobra and plank more in depth this afternoon and understand how we should really be doing the pose.

Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s a quick fix.
But because it actually works.

It helps calm your nervous system, regulate your emotions, and bring you back into your body; especially on the days that feel like too much.

When you practise it regularly, breathwork can completely change how you feel; physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This week, as we honour Mental Health Awareness, it’s the perfect time to slow down and start reconnecting with yourself.
