So the NMC have put new regulations in place to help improve patient safety when practitioners are using prescription only medication.

For any botox treatments you will now need to have a face to face consultation with the Practitioner prescribing your botox.

Myself and Claire who is my nurse prescriber are currently looking at holding clinics for these once a month on a Tuesday afternoon/evening. This will need to be taken into account when you are booking in for your treatment so careful planning ahead will need to be considered for your upcoming treatments.

We will keep you updated on these clinics and I will contact those who are due their treatments so we can plan your face to face consultation well within time for your next treatment.

There will be a £30 deposit to secure your consultation and this will be taken off your total treatment cost which will be paid when treatment is carried out.

I have also updated my policies to protect your appointment time and give me added security being self employed.

I have made some other changes with Lash Extension Services to reflect the time and effort that goes into them.

I always get asked if the hair will grow back thicker after dermaplaning, especially after Mollie Mae said dermaplaning is a trap 🤦🏼‍♀️

NO the peach fuzz (vellus hair) is what is removed during dermaplaning and its hair structure is not the same as the hair on your head or other areas (terminal hair). It only has the capacity to grow thin, fine and upto 2cms, it has a 4-6weeklife cycle.

If dermaplaning made hair grow back thicker then i would have men lining up at my door wanting their hairlines dermaplaned 🤣🤣

PLEASE NOTE- As we age we do get the odd bristle suddenly appear particularly around the lips and chin 🫣 These hairs are not vellus hairs they are terminal hairs and they need to be removed by the root by either plucking or waxing.

Yes if you dermaplane over these hairs you will feel it growing back as its been cut/blunted by the blade. This is probably what happened to Mollie Mae.

EDUCATION IS KEY

Dermaplaning monthly is a great way to keep peach fuzz at bay, also it removes dead skin cells, meaning your makeup applies smoother, and your skincare can pe*****te deeper.

The most important product in your skincare routine should be a moisturiser with an Spf in. It should be used all year round, Prevention is bettter than cure! Doesnt have to be a fancy expensive brand but at least an Spf of 30.

I use La Roche Posay Effaclar spf 30 as i have spot prone skin, whats your go to product?
