🎨 A Voice in Two Parts: Now and Next
This striking artwork was created today by a client during a therapeutic voice session. They were invited to explore how their voice feels now — and how they hope it might feel in the future.
🖼️ On the left, they have depicted their experience as a singer today:
A “vice grip” sensation around the throat… rigid waves and sharp colours capturing the anxiety and tension that often take over when they try to sing. They spoke of “sharp thoughts” interrupting their ability to sing — a constant battle between body and mind.
🖼️ On the right, their hopes for the future:
A calmer throat. A calmer mind. Ease, flow, and the ability to sing without fear. The colours soften, their lines loosen and become more ‘creative’ and fluid — an image of voice as a peaceful extension of self, rather than a struggle.
This artwork speaks volumes about the emotional landscape of singing. Voice therapy isn’t just about technique — it’s about listening to the whole person, including the parts that don’t always have words yet.
🧠🫁❤️ Sometimes, voice healing begins with being seen.
