Happy All Hallows' Eve!
All Hallows’ Eve has roots in Samhain, an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. Celebrated around October 31st to November 1st, it was believed to be a time when the veil between the living and the spirit world grew thin, allowing ancestors and other spirits to cross more easily.
People lit bonfires, held feasts, honored their ancestors, and sometimes wore disguises to confuse or ward off any wandering spirits. Many traditions we now associate with Halloween—carving lanterns, wearing costumes, and telling ghostly stories—can be traced back to Samhain. 🎃🎃
It was not originally a “scary” holiday, but more a sacred one focused on transition, remembrance, and the changing of the seasons. 🌙🕯️
I will definitely be transitioning from the clinic to the couch 😆
I hope everyone has a lovely evening & weekend, whether you're cosied up in front of the fire or out & about with pumpkins and ghouls!
