A cavity happens when the outer layer of your tooth, called enamel, breaks down due to acids produced by bacteria from sugary foods and drinks. Once the enamel is damaged, it creates tiny holes in your tooth, and if left untreated, it can get worse. 😬

So, how do you fight back? Here are a few easy tips to help keep your teeth strong:

1️⃣ Floss daily – Flossing gets between your teeth where your brush can’t reach, removing food and plaque that cause decay.

2️⃣ Limit sugary foods and drinks – Sugars feed the bacteria that produce acids, so cutting back will protect your teeth.

3️⃣ Spit, don’t rinse after brushing – After brushing, spit out the excess toothpaste but don’t rinse. This helps the fluoride stay on your teeth longer and strengthens the enamel.

4️⃣ Brush twice a day – Make sure you’re brushing in the morning and before bed for at least 2 minutes to give your teeth the best defense.

The best way to avoid cavities is prevention, but with these tips, you can keep your teeth healthy and strong naturally! 💪🦷
