VACANCY - Funeral assistant required, out of hours rota,
6pm – 8am only.

If the answer to these questions is yes, you should consider our vacancy as a part-time funeral assistant.
Our funeral assistants are reliable, well-presented individuals who work with professionalism and show compassion for bereaved families.
You will need to be available by phone through the night and able to respond to a call-out within two hours.
Part of our work is to offer a 24 response service to families who might suffer a bereavement during the night or over the weekend. We need reliable staff to assist us with staffing this service.
The job involves assisting our full-time staff with removals of deceased during the night. Bereavements usually occur at care homes or family homes and are expected and peaceful.
We do not work with the Coroner or Police so you would not be asked to deal with sudden or unexpected deaths.
We would consider a candidate willing to work either: full-time, ‘one week in two’, or ‘one week in four’ but our preference would be ‘one week in two’ i.e. alternate weeks on call.
No experience is necessary, in fact, if you are looking for something new we would be very pleased to hear from you.
You might be starting a career, looking for a role in retirement or looking for a second job to work alongside another day-time role.
You will need to be physically fit, have a full driving license and be willing and able to work within the funeral industry.
Full training and uniform is provided.
*We pay our staff a set fee for each week they are on-call and a fee for each call-out they receive. As a rough guide you could expect the role to pay £250-£400 per week on call depending on the number of call outs.
