🌞May is Melanoma Awareness Month🌞

Did you know that melanoma is one of the most serious forms of skin cancer?

But don't worry, early detection and prevention can make a huge difference. Here are some simple yet effective tips to protect yourself and your loved ones 👇

✅Use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 and at least 4-star UVA protection. Reapply it regularly.

✅Try to avoid direct sun exposure during the hottest part of the day- 11am and to 3pm when UV rays are strongest.

✅Wear protective clothing. Long sleeves, hats, and sunglasses can be your best friends in the sun.

✅Check your skin regularly. Keep an eye out for new or changing moles and spots. Early detection is key.

Myddygfa Minarfon GP surgery (Kidwelly/Trimsaran) is changing its clinical IT systems between Thursday 16 and Thursday 23 January. This means GP services will be limited during these dates with appointments only available for urgent issues.

Patients who have an appointment already booked with the nursing team or physio should still attend.

• Thursday 16 January from 12pm – urgent appointments only
• Friday 17 January – limited service, pre-booked and urgent appointments only
• Monday 20 January – limited service, pre-booked and urgent appointments only
• Tuesday 21 January – Minafon: urgent appointments only / Trimsaran branch surgery: closed
