On the 19th September Glanmorfa Hydrotherapy Centre opened its doors for business. Equinox Physiotherapy Service alongside Glanmorfa Care Home has unveiled a brand new hydrotherapy centre, Glanmorfa Hydrotherapy Centre. The New facility boasts a modern design with an accessible 3/4 sunken bathing area, complete with under water light, sensory stimulation for mood and relaxation; a hoist system which allows patients to be moved straight in to the pool. Glanmorfa Hydrotherapy Centre’s facilities include a unique hydrotherapy pool which provides a bespoke service offering rehabilitation for patients who have suffered acquired or traumatic Brain Injury, the general public, young adults with learning or physical disability, pediatrics and geriatrics. All our therapists are fully trained in Hydrotherapy, Bill Morris Physiotherapist has over 30 years experience in treating clients and management of patients who have suffered from acquired or traumatic Brain Injury. Scott Morris has trained with the world renowned hydrotherapist Johan Lambeck and Urs Gamper in Kliniken Valens Switzerland. Adelle Griffiths qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy in 2005 and has over six and a half years experience in hydrotherapy. The aim of Hydrotherapy is to assist with the rehabilitation of neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and psychological function of the individual. In some cases it will also assist in maintaining the client’s level of function or prevent deterioration (e.g. aid in recovery in a preventative program). Aquatic Hydrotherapy may involve individual treatment on a one to one basis or may be undertaken in groups or classes. It may be used alone or in conjunction with other rehabilitation practices.
