Here's what PCSO Rawson got up to on patrol today ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

โœ… She started the morning outside Ridgeway Primary School, keeping a close eye on parking during drop-off time. A reminder to all: please park safely and responsibly โ€” letโ€™s keep everybody safe! ๐Ÿšธ

โ˜• She then headed to the Renishaw Coffee Morning, where she caught up with local residents to listen to any concerns and offer advice.

๐Ÿซฑ Next stop: Eckington Coffee Morning, continuing those all-important conversations with the community.

Yellow zig-zag lines outside schools indicate the length of road where stopping or waiting is strictly prohibited the reason for this is to keep children and families safe.

Tactile paving consists of a pattern of raised surface, this can be dots, bars, or lozenge bumps to warn people with sight loss of any dangers or obstacles they may be approaching, such as a crossing or steps and must not be obstructed at any time.

Yellow lines are used in areas where vehicles are not allowed to park up and wait or load and mean the following:
Double yellow lines parallel to the kerb - no waiting at any time.
A single yellow line parallel to the kerb - waiting is not allowed at certain times, as shown on a nearby sign.

Time limit parking signs are vehicle parking information times used for the purpose of controlling in car parks and parking spaces to let drivers know they have a limited number of hours and minutes to park their vehicle.

You must not park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines. You must not overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.

***Eckington***

Today PCSO Furmidge took part in a few of community-focused activities.

The day began with her attending Eckington Jnr school to talk about Hate crime; The children were excellent at listening and answered all her questions really well. Likewise, so were Marsh Lane Primary in the afternoon who received the same talk.

This is because this week is Hate crime awareness week for us. This is a great way to interact with the pupils, to teach them about various topics and to be more mindful when out in the community.

In between the walks she went to the park on Stead Street, Eckington and spoke to some of the local residents that were up there with their children enjoying the facilities. This is an excellent way to engage with members of the community and foster stronger local relationships in a welcoming environment. Visits like these are key to building trust with local people and encouraging positive relationships between police and to see what people are thinking about in the area for the future. A productive day focused on strengthening community ties!

Eckington SNT๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This afternoon PCSO Furmidge along with PCSO Dixon visited Eckington Camm's for a Mini Police session based around the patrol car and what equipment we have in our vehicles should we need it. They also got the opportunity to try on some of the head wear we have and some of the coats/jackets we wear whilst on duty.

After that PCSO Furmidge joined Marsh Lane coffee afternoon, offering residents a chance to talk to her and raise any concerns they have about the area. Whilst she was at the event the residents had apple crumble and custard, played bingo and took part in a raffle. Any one that lives local is welcome to join the group if they wanted to.

An excellent afternoon working alongside our local community.
