Today is World Hypertension Day.
High blood pressure - or hypertension - often shows no warning signs, yet it increases the risk for heart disease, stroke, blindness, dementia, and other complications.

A simple blood pressure check can be life-saving.

Getting your blood pressure measured the right way helps ensure accurate results.
Incorrect positions can lead to incorrect readings.

✔ Sit with your back supported
✔ Legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor
✔ Arm supported with the cuff at heart level
✔ Use correct cuff size
✔ Rest for at least 5 minutes before the reading
✔ Do not talk during or between measurements
✔ Avoid exercise, tea/coffee, and smoking for at least 30 minutes before reading

Small steps can make a big difference in protecting your health.

Expired or unused medicines can’t be reused or recycled and should not be passed to other people, as they may not be safe or appropriate for them.

What can you do to keep things safe, reduce risks, and help the environment?

• Return tablets, capsules, liquids, creams, inhalers and medical devices to your local community pharmacy for safe disposal.
• Recycle blister packs where recycle services are available.
• Ask your GP practice Pharmacy team or local pharmacist about smaller medicine pack sizes to reduce leftovers and prevent waste.

Let’s work together to reduce medicine waste, care for our environment, and protect NHS resources.

This year the Easter Bunny has taken very good care of us and put lots of time and effort into making 2 beautiful Easter hampers and our lucky prize winners, Sharon, from our Reception Team and Dr Maqsood were both super happy to receive this amazing (and delicious) treat! 💛

We wish all our patient's and colleague's a Happy Easter! And also huge thank you to Alison for baking up a storm and lighting up all our faces with all the goodies brought in! 😋
