# parent club
When babies cry it can be stressful and overwhelming – you’re getting to know your baby and everything is so new 💞

Visit our website where you can learn more about why your baby may be crying, how to soothe them and support your mental health ➡️parentclub.scot/articles/why-my-baby-crying

If you’re worried about your baby’s crying, ask your health visitor, family nurse or GP to check them over so you know everything is fine. If nothing is wrong, that’s likely just how your baby is at the moment.

You’re not doing anything wrong, it’s not your fault. If you’re finding it hard to cope, you can get help and support from your health visitor, family nurse or GP. Or call the free Cry-sis helpline on 0800 448 0737 🫶

Returning to running or exercise postpartum?

It is important to be assessed and screened prior to returning to physical activity in the postpartum period. Women should ideally be evaluated for pelvic health related symptoms and given appropriate advice on readiness to return to higher impact activity.

Here are some excellent resources and recommendations.

NHS – Smoke-free pregnancies

There are many benefits of stopping smoking during pregnancy including:
• you reduce the risk of having a miscarriage or your baby being stillborn

• you reduce the risk of sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI), previously known as cot death
• you'll save money - just a month of not smoking could save you money to spend on you and your baby
