Every child has the right to a life free from discrimination; a life where they can share their thoughts freely; and a life where all obstacles are removed to allow active participation in the community.

Do you know what the benefits of learning rhyme are? Take a look at some below.

Try to use more rhyming words day-to-day with your wee ones. This could be singing nursery rhymes, playing rhyming I spy, or finding words that rhyme in a specific category or around you.

Did you know Speech & Language Therapy team up with NEST to deliver workshops?

The next date for our ‘Supporting your Autistic Child’s Communication Development’ workshop is Tuesday 18th November at CentreStage in Kilmarnock. You can book your place at www.nest.scot.

Look out for workshops coming up in South and North Ayrshire in Jan/Feb 26. Each workshop is open to anyone interested across Ayrshire.

When we speak to wee ones, it can be easy to take the lead by asking lots of questions. ❔❓

It’s helpful for us to make more comments when we speak. This lets children hear us using words and helps them learn new words.

The best way to remember – for every question you ask, try to follow this with 2 comments on your next turn to speak!
