Pumpkin Soup Recipe 🎃

Fresh pumpkins are in the shops, and I'm sure many of you have some in the house with Halloween coming up. Here's a warming soup recipe that will help tonify your Qi (energy) during the cold nights:

🌿Ingredients🌿
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion peeled and chopped
200g potato washed and cut into cubes
1kg whole pumpkin, or 700g prepared weight
600ml veg or chicken stock
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

✨Instructions✨
1. Peel and chop the pumpkin and into chunks. Peel and chop the onion, and wash and cut the potato into cubes.
2. Heat the oil in a pan, and fry the onion for 7-8 minutes.
3. Add the potato and stir over the heat for a couple of minutes.
4. Add the pumpkin, stock, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
5. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
6. Blitz until smooth.

Pumpkin seeds are rich in magnesium and can help regulate blood pressure.

🎉 Happy 12th Birthday to clinic dog, Oskar! 🐾

Oskar used to work as a Blue Cross Education Dog, visiting schools to teach children the importance of caring for their pets and showing kindness to animals.

Now enjoying a well-deserved retirement, he still loves greeting visitors at the clinic with a friendly tail wag 😊

As I continue preparing behind the scenes for the opening of my new clinic, I'm excited to share an update:

✨ ️Cupping therapy is now available as a standalone treatment! ✨️

Some of you asked if cupping can be done on its own, without acupuncture needles, and the answer is now yes.

I've treated many tradesmen, gym enthusiasts, sports players and desk workers who have felt immediate pain relief from cupping, it's very relaxing. ☺️😴

Athletes also use cupping for sports performance and recovery, with reduced muscle tension and increased range of motion to prevent injury.

🌟 Your local acupuncturists are fundraising for World Medicine 🌟

Here's a video of Emma talking about our latest fundraising mission for Uganda.

In April 2026, World Medicine will begin a new clinic based in the Mother Mercy Hospital in Kyengera, on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. To raise money for this we are 'virtually' walking from World Medicine HQ in London to the hospital, a distance of over 6000 miles! I'm counting every hobble on my crutches just now 😉

🎂 1st September marks my first business birthday! Has it really been a whole year?

🌿 Clinic Update 🌿

I have a connective tissue condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which makes my bones more prone to injury. Recently, I experienced a traumatic ankle break, and I’ll be closing my practice until October while I focus on recovery.

This experience has been a powerful reminder of something I often share with my patients: Healing is not linear. It's a journey of balance, patience, and deep self-awareness, not a quick fix. While this isn’t the kind of “pause” I anticipated, it’s offering me space to practice what I preach.

Thankfully, I'm supported by an incredible community of healthcare professionals, and I’ll be leaning into acupuncture and rehab as soon as my cast is off. I’ve also got plenty of Evil Bone Water stocked in clinic to support my bone and tissue repair.

I’m looking forward to returning to practice in October, with a deeper appreciation for the medicine I offer. You can still book online to secure an appointment at my gorgeous new clinic in Kilmichael which I’ll show you soon. Until then, thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. 🙏❤
