ℹ️ If you’re worried about your child’s communication skills, you’re not alone. Many parents wonder if their child is reaching important milestones in speaking, understanding and interacting with others.
💭 Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1️⃣ Every Child Develops at Their Own Pace. Children grow and learn in different ways, and communication skills can vary widely from child to child. Some children are early talkers, while others may take longer to develop words and sentences. Keep in mind that a wide range of timing is normal! 2️⃣ Focus on Simple, Daily Interactions - like talking during meals, reading stories, or naming objects around you. Commenting on your routines is great way to support language growth. 3️⃣ Seek Support Early if you have a concern, don’t hesitate to reach out to a professional. Early support, if needed, can make a big difference! 4️⃣ Be Patient and Encourage Your Child. Children respond best to a supportive, low-pressure environment. Celebrate their progress and accept communication at your child’s level. Letting them know you’re proud of their efforts can boost confidence and eagerness to communicate.
❗️Remember, you’re your child’s best advocate, and your loving support is the most important part of their journey. If you need advice, contact Central Speech & Language Therapy to chat to a Speech & Language Therapist.
