Yoga With Christina

Yoga With Christina Yoga Classes suitable for all fitness levels. Monday 7pm to 8pm online. Thursday 7pm to 8pm Kilsyth Mehidist Church Hall I will also be honest with you too.

*Classes are for men & women & are suitable for all fitness levels - There is always a modification of Asanas (postures) available.
*Please be polite & mannerly when engaging with each other on here.
*In the About section i have put to be at class 5 to 10 mins early. This is a safety precaution as Yoga (as does all exercise) requires a warm up so cold muscles aren't being stretched. If you stretch a cold muscle, you risk injury to the muscles & joints, so the warm up section needs to be done to avoid this.
*Yoga is good for fitness level, weight loss, mobility, flexibility, stress relief, anxiety, fatigue, aches & pains, sleep patterns, detoxification of the body, regulation of hormones & adrenal glands, posture, strength, muscle tone, back pain, joint pain, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression and much much more. It helps the body on a cellular level as well as physical.
*Having been a fitness instructor of 24 years, Yoga took me on a journey away from the gym floor, to India for a month & my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. It came about after a diagnosis of Stress Related Chronic Fatigue. We learned about the anatomy & physiology of Yoga, nutrition, philosophy, pranayama, meditation, practical Yoga practice & Ayurveda. It has helped me tremendously to gradually regain my health. I have qualifications in sports nutrition, raw food nutrition, basic nutrition, health & fitness, BAWLA, Zumba Basic 1, Reiki levels 1, 2 & 3, Indian Head Massage, EFT & am currently studying nutritional therapy. So as well as Yoga, i can offer nutritional advice along with holistic tips to help your overall health. Health & proper nutrition are important & can make such a difference to your well being. So i am more than happy to assist with any questions you may have about your journey to better health. I guess you could say i have empathy too. I am an outdoor sports enthusiast having completed triathlons, treks & various runs, enjoying kayaking, hiking, biking & running. Until CFS enforced rest. So i understand human frustrations at lack of progress & how difficult it can be to start exercise again. But i also understand how nutrition & Yoga can help you heal. Thank You Thank You Thank You πŸ’œβœ¨οΈ Lesley Murray dropped me a wee message after I handed all our Donations into the Foodbank today. We raised Β£120 and some food was handed in also. Every year we do this you guys are amazing. It all stays in our own Community which makes it so much more special. πŸ’œβœ¨οΈ

Good Afternoon lovely Yogis πŸ˜πŸ’œ Classes this week and next week:
Tonight is all about you - we will do a "what do you need" impromptu class. This means you tell me on the comments when you log on to the live and I shall take you from where you are at that moment and make a class around what each of you ask for.

This Thursday and NEXT Monday will be the Food Drive classes and Lesley has requested donations again. So instead of paying for THURSDAY and MONDAY next week, you pop a cash donation into an envelope, either put it through my door or hand it in on Thursday at the Church Hall. That way donations are Anonymoys and I will just hand the envelopes to the food bank as we did last year 😁

Thursday and Monday will also be our Christmas themed classes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Because you know how much I love making up stupid pose names πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Next Thursday the 11th December, the Hall class is off as I am on a two day course through Men Matters Hub in Drumchapel for ASIST Training. This means I'll not get back in time for getting to the hall.

1. In January a longer Yin Yoga class, online so it can be longer, to be able to immerse in the postures more πŸ’œ for Yes or 😝 for No

2. I've figured out how to download class and save it to Google Drive, giving you access to the class again after it's finished. Would it be helpful if I made a WhatsApp Group for the Online Class and pop the link in the group for those of you who pay for class, but then miss it due to work? Facebook only saves it for 4 weeks now πŸ’œ for Yes 😝 for No

Midweek 5-Minute Standing Yoga Refresh ✨

Take 5 minutes today to pause, stretch, and reset β€” no mat needed. These gentle standing poses will help you reconnect with your breath and feel more grounded for the rest of the week. 🌞

1️⃣ Mountain Pose (Tadasana)
🌿 Stand tall, feet grounded.
πŸ’¬ Affirmation: β€œI am steady, strong, and supported.”

2️⃣ Standing Side Stretch
🌬️ Reach arms overhead, lean gently side to side.

So I thought I'd share these with you lovely Yogis πŸ’œβœ¨οΈ These were the two courses I completed. The breath work one I started ages ago and then life got in the way so I'd left it a while. So I used last to complete that one and also do the Mental Health one. I loved bothπŸ’œ Both are recognised by Yoga Alliance Professionals as continuing education so I'll need to remember and update my profile.
