Free your body with Yoga! I'm grateful to be teaching Yoga classes again at the beautiful Armadale Village hall, starting back up on Tuesday 16th September, 6pm start. We will be doing a 9 week block, but see how it goes and including many types of Yoga, breathwork, meditation and sound bowls. Don't worry if you have never done yoga before, I accommodate all levels and supply blocks, straps, bolsters etc.
Why Yoga is amazing 🀩:
Yoga makes you stronger, yoga makes you flexible. It stretches muscles and muscle fibres bringing blood flow and moving lymphatic fluid. Yoga opens up your joints and vertebrae which allows synovial fluid to come in around the joints and vertebrae which brings with it all kinds of goodies like blood plasma and proteins which our bodies love, so Yoga heals you. Yoga brings a calmness to the mind as when we practice Yoga we include breathwork throughout our practice but because we're bringing our focus to our body, we're clearing the mind of thought and creating that mind- body connection, so for the hour we're on our mats our mind is clear, it's connected to the body and bringing about a form of meditation.
Cost will be an Β£8 donation, bring a mat if you have one, some water and wear something comfortable and let's make this fun! No need to book, just turn up before class, find yourself a place & relax, Namaste. πŸ™πŸ’«πŸ§˜πŸŒΊ

This Wednesday's class will be the last class for the rest of the Summer. As well as many people away & busy with commitments and life, I also will be busy with healing retreats and enjoying some time off to hang with my boy down the beach & surfing. Much gratitude to everyone who has enjoyed the classes this year, supported me & themselves by practicing Yoga. I'll be back teaching in September & will post an update on here with dates. Very last minute but to cheer us all up on a rainy afternoon, I'm offering to put on a FREE relaxing session of breathwork, gentle yoga & sound bowls today, Saturday 5th July at 3pm. Location at Strath Halladale. You don't have to be familiar with Yoga or breathwork to come along as it'll all be guided. Breathwork techniques help to control anxiety and bring a sense of inner calm as does Yoga as it brings our minds to a mind body connection, bringing a meditative sense of peacefulness. I'll need a few people to be interested to make it worth while & offer to do this for free, to bring something beneficial for our small communities and because I care.

Yoga is back! This week we'll be exploring some new Somatic exercises to gently open up the lower back. If you are new to Yoga and suffer with lower back pain, then you are welcome to join our small class here at Strath Halladale and give it ago. Yoga is a wonderful cure for back pain, it opens up the vertebrae, gently stretching the deep muscles around them, yoga helps to align our spines & strengthen the muscles around our spine and lower back, thus creating a stronger more flexible you but also as the muscles gain strength it takes the pressure off our joints, our hips and brings relief to pain. Somatic Yoga is a very gentle way to help encourage the vertebrae and lower back muscles to open. Message me if you would like to come along, limited places.

Backbends is always something in Yoga I have struggled with... having always suffered with lower back pain...But a lot of it has to do with fear. My journey with Yoga has taught me to listen to my body, it's limitations but also to have trust in it. It took me a lot of time & confidence to gain this trust but so far it's been worth it. The more I have trusted & relaxed into a back bend that little bit more, the more I allowed my spine to stretch forward and back, the more I have opened up my bodies joints, ligaments and muscles, the less pain I have, not just in my back but in other problematic areas. This is a truth and this is why I practice Yoga and am passionate about teaching classes because I have seen the difference it has made in my body and I certainly feel it. Today I went to do my yoga practice but halfway through it I felt tired, I pushed myself a little more but my body wasn't having it, so I stopped & listened to it. In my 20's my practice was more intense, I pushed myself no matter how I felt, I was determined to get that bit deeper into a pose or be able to hold it for longer & some days I am still like that...but I think it's also ok to listen to your body, to not cave into the ego. For me, being on my yoga mat has been a place of great learning & facing many parts of me. In my earlier days I would look at it as nothing much more than keeping fit & strong but throughout my life, that has slowly changed to a place of serenity, healing & going inwards. Five years ago after having a cesarean section I literally had to start my yoga from scratch, the physical part of it, as when you have a C-section, all your abdominal muscles have been cut through, I also by choice and as every mum does, dedicated 3 of those 5 years to enjoying being a muma. I've now dedicated the last 2 -3 years to getting back my strength and flexibility but the big bombshell is that I never realised before how yoga has really saved me, and now, how much more of a Spiritual practice it is to me, when I do my practice it's now become a time of complete meditation to me & I'm humbled by it & am still learning. Much love to everyone out there practising Yoga, never give up as it will always keep giving back to you...πŸ™
