πŸŽ—οΈ Baby Loss Awareness Week – 9th to 15th October πŸŽ—οΈ

This week, we join others across the country in turning pink and blue to remember all babies gone too soon, and to support families affected by pregnancy and baby loss. πŸ’™πŸ’—

Baby Loss Awareness Week is a time for reflection, remembrance, and raising awareness of the impact of baby loss. It also helps to break the silence, encouraging conversations and ensuring that bereaved parents and families know they are not alone.

If you or someone you know has been affected, support is available. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us or to the dedicated charities offering help and comfort during such difficult times.

πŸ’œ On 15th October, the Wave of Light will take place, where candles are lit at 7pm across the world in remembrance.

❀️ October is National Cholesterol Month! ❀️

Did you know that high cholesterol can increase your risk of heart disease and stroke? The good news is, small lifestyle changes can make a big difference.

Here’s how you can take action this month:
βœ… Get your cholesterol checked – book a test with your GP, local pharmacy, or through workplace health programmes.
βœ… Join the Great Cholesterol Challenge – aim to walk more, eat healthier, or set another heart-healthy goal.
βœ… Learn and share – read up on cholesterol and spread awareness with family and friends.
βœ… Try heart-healthy recipes – add more fibre, healthy fats, and plant-based foods to your meals.
βœ… Support Heart UK and heart health charities – donate, fundraise, or volunteer.

πŸŽ€ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month πŸŽ€

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, but early detection saves lives. This month is about raising awareness, encouraging regular checks, and supporting those affected. πŸ’—

πŸ‘‰ Risk factors can include:
β€’ Family history of breast cancer
β€’ Alcohol, to***co, and high-fat diet
β€’ Past history of cancer or obesity

πŸ‘‰ Prevention & early detection:
β€’ Carry out monthly breast self-examinations
β€’ Book a clinical breast examination annually
β€’ Over 40? Speak to your GP about mammograms

If you notice any changes in your breasts – such as lumps, pain, ni**le discharge, or skin changes – please contact your GP as soon as possible.

Together, we can spread awareness and save lives. πŸ’•

Today we say a fond farewell to Dr. Richard Bosworth, who is leaving our practice to start an exciting new chapter in Australia.

We are so grateful for the care, kindness, and dedication he has shown to our patients and team during his time with us. He will be greatly missed, but we wish him every success (and plenty of sunshine!) as he heads off on this new adventure. πŸŒβ˜€οΈ

Thank you for everything, Dr. Bosworth β€” and don’t forget us when you’re enjoying your barbecues and kangaroos! πŸ¦˜πŸ’›

Please join us in wishing him all the very best for the future.
