Whilst Christmas may be a time of safety and fun for some, for others it can be isolating, scary and unsafe.
Here are some signs that you might be in an abusive relationship -
š© isolated from friends and family, your partner doesnāt like you being around other people or communicating with other people
š© love bombing one moment and giving you silent treatment the next, you may feel like youāre treating on eggshells or worried about what mood they might come home in
š© they have been physically aggressive towards you. This could involve hitting, kicking, biting, slapping. NONE OF THESE ARE ACCEPTABLE.
š© they dismiss you constantly when you try to explain to them how you are feeling about their behaviour or actions, they may even tell you itās your own fault and you are the one who ends up taking accountability or apologising
These are just some of the red flags that you might be in an abusive relationship. Abuse isnāt always physical, it can be emotional, psychological, financial or sexual. You are not alone and support is out there.
