Our yoga practice provides relief for the nervous system, we learn how to control the breath, slow the pace and focus our awareness on sensations.

Our yoga practice opens us up to being present in the moment. Practicing with the intention to work mindfully through postures grants us the time, space and opportunity to slow down. Simply noticing our response to each posture, to each deliberate movement and giving our full attention to one thing....

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on the theme of balance, my students are really interested in maintaining this skill for functional movement, and yoga can really help...

“Balance in the body is the foundation for balance in life.” B.K.S Iyengar I love this quote, it reminds me that the skills we cultivate on the mat can be transferred and applied to life. Eastern philosophy recognises that our body is a good teacher! For the last couple of weeks I’ve been work...

PaceYoga

I have had a long history with yoga, I started to learn about the postures and breathing exercises from an early age. Throughout life’s events yoga has helped me to find a sense of ease both physically and mentally.

I trained as an early years teacher many moons ago, and tried to keep up a yoga practice, not always successfully! About 10 years ago I started to regularly attend a yoga class once more, and I’m so glad I did. My teacher was in his 70s and a true inspiration to me, so much so that I decided to follow in his footsteps and study for a diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga.

I qualified in 2017 and set up 4 classes. My aim is to provide a setting which is supportive and self-paced. All classes are accessible to beginners and incorporate modified postures when needed, work on the mat and chair, relaxation techniques, breath work and meditation.

A regular practice with Pace Yoga will facilitate a state of calm and ease allowing you to explore the physical, emotional and mental aspects of yoga.
