We didn’t let the rain stop us today! Our Bloom Buddies gathered in the Library, popped on aprons and gloves, and got stuck into some planting fun. 🌼🪴

Everyone filled their baskets with soil and planted beautiful ivy, pansies, hanging pansies, heather, and mini conifers. Of course, no garden session is complete without a warm drink and a good chat! ☕💬

For those who couldn’t join us in the Library, the garden bus paid a special visit so they could enjoy some gardening too — everyone was included. 💛

It was a lovely, uplifting morning full of colour, creativity, and smiles! 🌸😊

Anthony had long wished for a shopping trip to Peterborough 🛍️, and despite the dreary weather 🌧️, his excitement never wavered. The journey was a long one 🚗, but the anticipation made every mile worthwhile.

Once we arrived, Anthony was in his element exploring the shops at Queensgate Shopping Centre 🏬, picking up some wonderful finds along the way. We paused for lunch at a cosy coffee shop ☕, where he enjoyed a hearty sausage bap 🌭 with a smooth latte.

Feeling refreshed, he headed straight back to browsing, making the most of every moment until he was well and truly shopped out 😅. To finish off a brilliant day, Anthony treated himself to a well-deserved drink and a doughnut 🍩🥤 before we made our way home—happy, tired and content after a fulfilling trip ❤️.

There’s nothing quite like sitting down with a good friend, or a loved one, over a warm cup of tea and a slice of cake.
At Goodwins Hall, we believe the simplest moments often become the most meaningful ones. 💛

This week our residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of tea, treats and heartfelt conversations. Laughter flowed, memories were shared, and new friendships blossomed around the table.

🌼 Fridays are for Flowers at Goodwins Hall!

Every Friday, our lounge is filled with colour, laughter and the lovely scent of fresh blooms as our residents take part in flower arranging. It’s a simple joy that brings so much creativity and calm to the end of our week.

Our residents love making sure the home, especially our dining tables, always has beautiful, hand-arranged displays for everyone to enjoy. Their pride in their creations shows in every bouquet! 💐✨

If you’d like to join us, we host flower arranging every Friday here at Goodwins Hall Care Home.
You’re always welcome to pop in, share a smile and enjoy a relaxed morning surrounded by good company and gorgeous flowers. 🌷💛

🎉 A Special Birthday Celebration for Our Lovely Gesina 🎉

This week at Goodwins Hall we had the pleasure of celebrating our dear resident Gesina’s birthday. As her family and friends are far away, our wonderful team wanted to make sure she still felt surrounded by love, laughter and lots of care ❤️

Our staff prepared a little surprise filled with all of Gesina’s favourite things – her preferred treats, music she enjoys, beautiful decorations, and of course plenty of smiles. Her face lit up the moment she walked in, and it truly reminded us how important these moments are 🥰

Thank you to our amazing team for always going the extra mile to make every resident feel valued and cherished. And happy birthday, Gesina – we hope your day was as special as you are 💐💛

❤️ Remembrance Day at Goodwins Hall ❤️

On Tuesday 11th November, our residents came together to honour and remember all those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. 🇬🇧🌹

Our resident Harold prepared his own heartfelt reading especially for the occasion, which he proudly shared with everyone. His chosen rhythm played softly in the background as residents listened in reflection, a truly moving moment. 🎖️🎵

Afterwards, many shared their own personal memories and experiences from that time, filling the room with stories of bravery, love and hope. ❤️

We will always remember.
