🌸 Goodwins Activity Series: Bloom Buddies – Gardening Season Begins 🌿

We are delighted to kick off gardening season with our Bloom Buddies, both indoors and outdoors, as we get ready for Athena in Bloom 🌼

Residents spent time in the garden enjoying the fresh air and preparing pots that will brighten up our outdoor spaces in the weeks ahead. 🌱

Everyone got involved at their own pace—gently planting and sharing gardening tips and memories.

It was a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect, work together, and enjoy the calming benefits of being around plants and nature 🌷

✨ A truly heartwarming day for our residents ✨

We were so happy to join Amberley Hall Care Home for a very special visit from Nigel Pivaro, known for playing Terry Duckworth in Coronation Street.

This visit fulfilled a resident’s wish, making it even more meaningful 💛 There were smiles, laughter, and lovely memories made together.

Our residents enjoyed an absolutely spectacular night out at the Circus Ginnett last night!

From dazzling performances to plenty of laughter and excitement, the evening was full of magical moments and big smiles. 🤹‍♂️🎉

The energy, the fun, and the shared experience made it a night to remember for everyone and we’re still talking about it today! 💫

And the excitement isn’t over yet… more of our residents are heading to see the show tonight. We can’t wait for them to experience the magic too! 🎟️🎉

Throwback Thursday 📸

During our Friendship Café session last Friday, we were delighted to welcome guest speaker Michael Laird, who gave a captivating presentation about his time as a troop photographer in Afghanistan.

Through a powerful collection of photographs and personal stories, he offered residents a unique and thought-provoking glimpse into his experiences. The session ended with an engaging Q&A, where residents asked insightful questions and showed genuine interest in his journey.

It was a truly memorable afternoon, with many already looking forward to welcoming Michael back to share more from his incredible expeditions.

Barry and Terry enjoyed a wonderful trip down memory lane with a Royal Mint Museum Reminiscence Box 🪙

The box sparked lots of conversation and fond memories, as residents explored coins, stories, and historical items from years gone by. It was lovely to see everyone sharing their experiences, comparing how money has changed over time, and reminiscing about the past.

Sessions like these are a fantastic way to encourage connection, storytelling, and meaningful engagement for our residents 💙

A big thank you to Ruby as she completes her Work Experience Placement here at Goodwins Hall Care Home! 🌟

During her time with our Lifestyles Team, Ruby was a pleasure to have around—bringing a positive attitude, compassion, and a real interest in supporting our residents. She got involved in a range of activities, helping to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences while gaining hands-on learning to support her studies at the College of West Anglia.

We’re always delighted to play a part in supporting those starting their journey into care, and value the strong links we have within our King’s Lynn community.

✈️ Armchair Travel Adventure to Germany 🇩🇪

We helped make Gesina’s wish come true as she reminisced about home with a special armchair trip to Germany, thoughtfully organised by our wonderful lifestyles team who did a fantastic job as our in-flight attendants! 😊

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the journey, especially indulging in Gesina’s favourite traditional meal of beef roulade, followed by a delicious rhubarb streusel cake for dessert freshly prepared by our talented catering team.

It was a lovely day filled with memories, smiles, and a touch of home.
