Planes or helicopters?
My late husband, Carl, and I always had that fun 'argument'.
As a dedicated helicopter pilot and shipwreck documentarist (he owned an R44!), he was firmly in the rotary camp, I however, firmly fixed wing!
Tragically, he was lost to the sea during his Britannic expedition. But as I returned to flying this year and landed in Crete (HER) for the second time, the universe sent me a very clear message: a massive helicopter, echoing the one that flew him after his accident, was right on the tarmac.
A quiet reminder that he’s always nearby.
My commitment to his legacy led me to become an ASA/STA Swim England teacher, teaching thousands of children since 2009.
Imagine my surprise when a group of 21 young swimmers and their coaches boarded my flight home!
I was able to use my 'swimming speak' to successfully connect and negotiate a complex seating situation—a Coke and a can of Pringles well spent!
The sea and the sky are my two happy places. To see a helicopter and have a planeload of swimmers all in one day?
Butterflying my way down the aisle, the Flight Attendant Therapist.
That’s what I call destiny.
What's a memory or passion you carry forward as a legacy for someone you've lost?
