🌿 Grief doesn’t always look how we expect it to…

Sometimes it’s quiet.
Sometimes it shows up in the body before we even have words for it.

This was a message I received after a recent session that was booked after losing someone, and it really stayed with me 🤍

What we hold emotionally, we often carry physically too…

🍂 heaviness in the body
🍂 tension that won’t quite shift
🍂 shallow breathing
🍂 a nervous system that doesn’t feel settled
🍂 a sense of disconnection from yourself

When people say they have a knot, they’re usually feeling one of these…

🌿 Local muscle tension 🌿
An area working overtime or guarding.

🌿 Trigger points 🌿
Sensitive spots that often cause a deep, nagging ache, stiffness, and weakness, and can refer pain elsewhere.

Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps around and through muscles… reduced glide in the fascia from repetitive positions or load can feel stiff and restrictive.
�🌿 Protective guarding from your nervous system 🌿
Sometimes what feels like a knot is your nervous system saying “this area doesn’t feel safe”. It increases tone as protection and can be caused by stress, fatigue, previous injury, etc.

✨ “Knots” are rarely something that need “breaking down.”
