A massive thank you from the team at Norton Brook to all patients who came to our Vaccination day yesterday. Thank you all for being so patient with the parking situation, and supporting us at the surgery.

Over 1,000 of you came through the doors for the clinic, and we vaccinated a total of 1,025 patients.

Thank you also for the understanding of our other patients, who were coming in to see doctors whilst all of this was happening.

The Friends of Norton Brook had a lovely weather day for their cake and plant sale, their final figure raised is to be announced.

|| IMPORTANT INFORMATION ||

Tomorrow, Thursday 9th October, is our Flu and Covid Clinic.

Some important information to note before hand.

- Please arrive at your appointment time, please avoid arriving early due to how busy the day is.

- Our car park is not very big. Where possible, please walk to the surgery for your appointment/car share/ park in town car parks and walk from there.

- Please be patient with the staff. We have over 1,000 of you booked in, and our clinics usually run very smoothly, but the wait may be slightly longer than usual.

We thank you all again for coming to us for your vaccines, and we will see you all tomorrow, where the Friends of Norton Brook will be holding a Cake and Plant sale.

|| BANK HOLIDAY CLOSURE ||

We are closed on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25th. We reopen on Tuesday 26th August at 8am.

*** UPDATE*** We are now up and running. Thank you for being so patient.

We are currently experiencing some issues with our phones and internet connectivity at the moment. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

If you need non urgent medical help, please fill in an online form, but please be aware we will not see this immediately, and will endeavour to reply as soon as we are up and running.

Alternatively, the Minor Injuries Unit at South Hams Hospital are open from 8.30-17.30, and you can call 111 for any urgent help.

We will update you as soon as we know more.

We are currently aware of a nationwide major service outage in relation to making outbound calls to mobile numbers, mainly with EE customers, but all network providers are affected. We are struggling to make outbound calls so if you are expecting a call from us, please phone us and we will endeavour to put you through to the right person.

Alternatively, if you are completing an online form for us, please can you include alternate numbers, including a landline where possible.

|| Latest update on weight loss drugs ||

Mounjaro – NHS Devon current position

(30th June 2025)

Tirzepatide, commonly known as Mounjaro, is a drug that up to now has only been prescribed for people with type 2 diabetes. Recently published NHS guidance is now recommending this is also considered as an option for managing overweight and obesity, alongside a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Provision of Mounjaro for weight management is yet to be implemented across Devon.

NHS Devon is therefore advising GPs to not prescribe Mounjaro for weight management at this time.
