We recently carried out a funeral at the lovely Buckland Tout Saints parish church. The funeral was for a gentleman who was not only a greatly loved father and grandfather but a decorated war hero. It was an honour and privilege to be asked to carry out the funeral.

May 2025 has seen us reach a proud milestone in our business. This week we are acknowledging the 10th anniversary of serving our local community. On May 8th 1945 after 6 years of war and suffering. Europe united in both joy and sorrow, joy that war was over, sorrow for those brave souls that were not to return home to celebrate.
As hostilities ended and the guns fell silent a new era commenced of peace and hope.
Today we remember those that gave their all for us in hope that we should never see the dark days of war again and to celebrate what they achieved for us.

Every year Adrian (of Adrian Mundy Monumental Mason & Kingsbridge Funeral Directors) voluntarily cleans and repaints the letters on one of the town or villages war memorials.
This year he and Tom Mundy chose Slapton War Memorial.

Tom recently lettered this lovely plaque for the 80th anniversary of Exercise Tiger. We fitted it in time for the unveiling ceremony. As a family we gifted the plaque to Teddy Cranmer the gentleman who organised the whole event. It was an honour to be involved in making such a tribute. “Their sacrifice far greater than ours”
