We’re excited to introduce the 2023 LCGB speaker lineup. Whether you’re an aspiring, new or experienced lactation professional we know you’ll be excited about applying new research to practice. The conference, with 9.5+ CERPs, is the 21st-22nd April at High Leigh, Hertfordshire, (early bird discounts apply until 17th March). Here’s who you’ll meet…
Lisa Marasco, an IBCLC of 30 years, will be speaking about the mysteries of the milk ejection reflex, and how to support the breastfeeding dyad when this is impacted. She’ll also be unravelling some of the current challenges in lactation, particularly with limited research evidence.
Professor Francis McGlone is an Ig Nobel-prize winning neuroscientist who will be presenting his groundbreaking research on the touch-brain axis, speaking about the role of touch to modulate the pain response and social behaviours, as well as the reciprocity of mothers and babies for milk production.
Louise Oliver is a breastfeeding counsellor and founder of Diversity in Infant Feeding who will be delivering an action-focused talk about what commitment to inclusion looks like in practical terms, and what the systems and structures of our infant feeding world are missing.
Dr Mariana Colmenares is a paediatrician and IBCLC who will be sharing the clinical implications of breastfeeding children with neurodiversity. Children with neurodiversity have differences in neurosensory integration and may require unique approaches to support breastfeeding.
Dr Ilana Levene is a neonatology trainee and clinical doctoral fellow who will be sharing her new research into parent experiences of expressing and milk production for preterm neonates.
Dr Eva Mishor is a neuroscientist who will share her research into how human body odours communicate important messages, including how infants use their scent to affect their environment and in turn how they are affected by the scents of their parents and caregivers.
We can’t wait to hear all these golden nuggets of information. Have you booked yet? https://lcgb.org/events/ #!event/2023/4/21/lcgb-conference-2023
