A lot of the time it is constant fighting to get Eddie what should just be entitled to / what he needs and what a lot of us take for granted! School is just one of the places I have to do this as Eddie has to have a lot of other things in place to have a “normal” school life.
Yes I know it was my choice to put him in main stream school but this is because intellectually he needs this, things might change in the future but who knows only time will tell!
Being in mainstream and needing a lot of additional things in place for him this means a hell of a lot of fighting!!! This year there has been a hell of a lot of that and knock back after knock back!🥺 All this on top of his major operation and recobery which he is still going through and will be for the foreseeable!! It’s been mentally draining to say the least 🥺
BUT today was such a good day we had a meeting me, school and all professionals involved. All the fighting and determination seems to have paid off things are looking up 🥹 this is because of the amazing team me and Eddie have behind us at school.
I will always always fight until my very last breath to get Eddie what he needs but I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Eddie’s head teacher at school she has never given up 🥲not only fighting none stop for Eddie but also supporting me throughout it all even on school holidays and weekends constant emails back and forth!! The same goes for his outstanding Occupational Therapist she is the very best and also a lovely lady Jill from IPASS she really knows her stuff and has Eddie’s interest right at the top ❤️
Nikki and Sarah for constantly reminding me of all sorts I wouldn’t have my head screwed on if it wasn’t for them 🤣🙈
Most of all I would like to say thank you to one incredible lady Helen who is Eddie’s 1-1. Thank you Helen you are literally Eddie’s school mum he absolutely idolises you and rightly so; you are his voice and you never fail to make him heard!! You know and understand Eddie just as good as me and that is because you put so much time and attention into him! Honest I don’t know what either of us would do without you your one of a kind and I can’t express how thankful we are to have you 😘❤️
Bella-Rose you going through school with your brother means the world to me there were times we didn’t know if this would be possible! You go through so much darling and you take it all in your stride you are Eddie’s everything and mine and dads too! Keep being the incredible kind hearted beautiful girl you are 🩷🩷
