Hornsea Town Reserves 9-2 Wareham Forrest Reserves
Our opponents today were Wareham Forrest Reserves sitting bottom of the league without a win all season so our expectations were high. We started the game brightly and opened up the scoring in the first 10 minutes, a power full run by Max Grayston (sponsored by Film-Ocean) and a nice pass into the path of Henry Rosindale (sponsored by Hornsea Collective) who finished well. The 2nd goal came soon after with a perfect corner by Barty Grover (sponsorship available) to an unmarked Joey Larvin (sponsored by PS Publishing) at the back post for him to head home. We were 3 nil up and cruising with another goal from Harry Sykes (sponsored by Here to Listen Counselling). At this point the game started to change and more importantly our performance started to change, i guess we got too complacent, mistakes started to happen and we let them back into the game with a number of errors which lead to their first goal. This seemed to lift their confidence and they started to play, first half finished 3-1 to us.
Half time was interesting, a few stern word from the coaches, a tactical change and higher expectations were set for the second half, they didn't disappoint!! Straight out of the blocks they started pressing Wareham, constantly causing them problems and it wasn't long before the goals started coming, Max Grayston rifling a shot passed their goal keeper after a flick on from Adam Mulvanna (sponsorship available). Henry Rosindale won us a penalty after being pulled down in the box with Harry Sykes converting from the spot. Harry and Max linking up well again, this time Harry turning provider for Max to get his second of the game. Harry completed his hattrick just after the 60 minute mark, punishing them after a defensive mistake. Another quality corner from Barty, this time Fin Tanfield (sponsored by PS Publishing) getting on the end of it with the second headed goal of the game. Adam Mulvanna got our ninth and final goal of the game, put through on goal by Henry Rosindale and slotting home.
Wareham did get their second consolation goal late on and the score finished 9-2.
Second half display was much better than the first and the score could of been higher on another day.
