What is a GP receptionist? 👩

Receptionists are the ‘front of house’ staff in any surgery. They have to juggle the demands of patients with the instructions from doctors.

Their main role at Kingston Health GP Surgery is to make sure you get the help you need by booking appointments.

When you speak to them in the surgery or over the phone, our receptionists will ask for some details from you in order to better care for your specific situation. This is to ensure they can direct you to the best possible place or person for your care, as not everything will be relevant to a GP.

Our receptionists can advise you if your ailments would be best suited for a pharmacist, nurse, physiotherapist or GP. They also have other administrative roles such as ensuring hospital letters, patient notes and test results are filed correctly

DO YOU CHECK YOUR TESTICLES?

Testicular cancer is cancer that's found in the testicles.

It's most common in men aged 15 to 49. It can affect anyone who has testicles.

The testicles are 2 small oval-shaped organs which hang below the p***s in a pouch of skin called the sc***um.

Symptoms of testicular cancer include:

1) A lump or swelling in your testicle
2) Your testicle getting bigger
3) An ache or pain in your testicle or sc***um (the skin that covers the testicles)
4) Your sc***um feeling heavy, firm or hard
