Moving Forward is for people who have come to the end of their hospital-based treatment for primary breast cancer.

For a lot of people it’s not ‘back to normal’ when they’ve finished their hospital-based treatment for breast cancer. Coping with the shock of a diagnosis, treatment side effects and worries about recurrence can make it difficult to adjust to everyday life. That’s why Breast Cancer Now have set up the Moving Forward courses.

The face-to-face course runs over two half day sessions (3 and a half hours) a week apart. Through supportive, open conversations in a safe, confidential space it’s an opportunity to connect with people who understand. You'll find the tools to feel more empowered, confident and in control. People attending can share as much or as little as they feel comfortable doing. The sessions are delivered by a facilitator along with the support of volunteers, who have had a personal diagnosis. There is a question and answer session with a local breast care nurse, so you have the opportunity to ask any questions you'd like.

Alongside the face-to-face course, you'll have access to presentations on a range of topics from expert speakers, via an online platform and a Moving Forward journal to support you throughout the course.

The next Moving Forward course in Hull is due to take place on Friday 26th June & Friday 3rd July 2026.

It’s free of charge and you can find your closest course, self-refer and book onto the courses via the website or by calling 0345 077 1893.

Adjust to life after primary breast cancer treatment with our Moving Forward course. Find support, practical tools and connection with others.

May is Skin Cancer Awareness month.

Skin cancer, including melanoma and non-melanoma types, is one of the most common cancers. Early signs include:

➡️New or changing moles
➡️Irregular borders or uneven colouring
➡️Lesions that do not heal
➡️Itching, bleeding, or crusting skin changes

The ABCDE rule of skin cancer is an easy to remember system for determining whether a mole or growth may be cancerous.
